The Bell's design is eclectic in the truest sense of the word, as if an eccentric nobleman has travelled the world and stuffed his house full of curiosities from his travels. Old typewriters, ancient novels and safari chairs, 30's-style suitcase and mismatched chandeliers; the result is quirky and utterly charming. The opulent Big Room can accommodate up to 90 guests seated, and 120 for your evening celebrations. The distinctive wallpaper and grandiose collection of chandeliers offer you and your guests a unique space to celebrate your partnership, enjoy a beautiful meal and party the night away. Downstairs in the historic Stables you can celebrate your nuptials with your very own Red Carpet Walk which is rolled out just for you along the exceptionally long wooden table. Enjoy drinks and canapes from your personal bar. Under our beautiful pink neon, ‘I will always love you my friend’ is the perfect place for speeches, offering a more informal approach to the tradition. Our Cosy Snug is your own little space to chill out and relax during the day. After your ceremony we will smuggle you away to spend a little time by yourselves before the mingling begins. This is also the perfect place for guests young and old to rest on the comfy seats, enjoy the roaring fire, and get away from the noise (but only for a few minutes!). The Bell is also equipped with 11 beautifully distinctive rooms, all with their own personality. Your guests won’t want to get up for breakfast! Our amazing Love Nest lodge will be yours for the night, equipped with a fantastic copper roll top bath, perfect for a long luxurious soak. Warm up with your very own log burner and snuggle up in the Nest, the perfect place to end your day. Although The Bell is located in the heart of the East Sussex countryside, it still has great road and rail access, with Brighton only an hour away, and London 90 minutes.

From the moment we contacted The Bell 2 years before our Wedding Day we knew they were the right choice. Becky was welcoming and warm, answering every question with ease. The team on the day handled everything so we didn't have to think about anything. The Bell venue was beautiful and needed no added decorations apart from our few touches. Our guests raved about the food and rooms. From the moment we booked our wedding, we knew we’d chosen the right venue - not just because it’s absolutely beautiful, but because of the people who run it. Becky, our wedding coordinator, was simply amazing from start to finish. No matter how many emails I sent (and there were a lot), she answered every one with kindness, humour, and reassuring calm. The whole team went above and beyond to make everything perfect. Every detail was handled with care and professionalism, and nothing was ever too much trouble. On the day itself, they worked seamlessly behind the scenes, allowing us to relax and soak in every moment. The venue was stunning, the staff were wonderful, and the atmosphere was everything we dreamed of - joyful, effortless, and full of love. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We had our wedding at The Bell in Ticehurst in September 2025 and it honestly couldn’t have been more perfect. From the very beginning, the whole process felt easy and relaxed. Becky and Jess were incredible, so calm, organised and genuinely lovely to work with. We never felt stressed or overwhelmed, which is exactly what you hope for when planning a wedding. Everyone kept complementing me on how calm I was as a bride but that’s because The Bell took care of everything for us. The day itself was everything we wanted and more. The venue is beautiful and full of character, and it created such a warm, intimate atmosphere that our guests are still talking about. It felt so special to celebrate in a place with so much charm and personality. One of the things we really appreciated was that so much was taken care of in-house. From the food and drinks to the music, accommodation and coordination, everything flowed so smoothly. We felt totally looked after from start to finish. Having our family and friends stay on-site made the whole time even more memorable. The rooms are all so unique and thoughtfully done, and it meant a lot to have everyone together in one place. What can we say about The Bell in Ticehurst? For us, it was nothing short of perfect. We'd had a difficult couple of years, personally, leading up to our wedding, but being able to put all that behind us at The Bell, on the most important day of our lives, made it worth it. We could not have asked for more. We had our wedding over two days - a registrar ceremony on one day, then a celebrant ceremony the day after - and, if you can, we would highly recommend doing the same and staying at The Bell the night before the 'big day', as well as the night-of. Both days were sublime! The night before our official wedding, we had an intimate registrar ceremony in the Stables followed by dinner and drinks with family and bride/groom parties. Not only are the suites and rooms absolutely stunning, it was also lovely that everyone staying on-site could get to know each other, and have breakfast in the pub in the morning! In fact, many of our guests said they wished the wedding had lasted even longer! The food (we selected the 'Bespoke Menu') was exactly what we had hoped for - it was even better than on the tasting evening we were invited to - and The Bell went above and beyond catering for all dietary requirements (we had a guest who was pregnant, plus multiple vegans, vegetarians and allergies!). And, of course, no summary of The Bell would be complete without saying a huge thank you to the staff! From Becky, our wedding co-ordinator, to Jess who oversaw things on the actual day (as it was Becky's own 'big day'). to everyone on site, they couldn't have been more welcoming and accommodating. If there were any issues on the main day - though I doubt it! - we had no idea! The Bell's team ran everything like clockwork, making sure everyone was where they needed to be. The Bell's team was amazing at putting us at ease, no matter what was going on. Since the wedding, so many of our guests have (proactively) reached out to say what an incredible day(s) it was. From the moment we booked we were so impressed with how Tessa our wedding coordinator made sure our day was exactly what we wanted. The food was sublime and every member of staff went out of their way to ensure we had the perfect day. Special mention to Jess who made sure our day ran like clockwork. We organised our wedding remotely from Canada and had to reschedule twice because of the pandemic. Tessa was amazing, I can only imagine how many other couples she was juggling but she made what a stressful time more bearable with her patience and kindness. When we FINALLY got married the day was wonderful. We felt so well taken care of and the venue was perfect - enough room for guests to spread out but also small enough to be intimate. The food was incredible (thank you Oscar), Bryce and Jess were attentive and friendly and the lovely venue had everyone telling us they wanted to come back for a weekend break. We used Andrea across the road in Ticehurst at the Art Bunch for flowers and she did a lovely job. Our wedding was rearranged 3 times due to covid, but nothing was too much for the venue and we they helped us seamlessly organise the most amazing day. Food was superb and plenty of it to keep us going throughout the day (suggest the evening Mac and cheese!). The staff were so attentive and Tess and Bryce kept everything moving and seamless throughout and we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Our close family all stayed at the venue too the night before and after which made a huge difference as it become a full weekend of celebrations, and the rooms, lodges and garden are simply beautiful. We had our wedding reception at The Bell and it was perfect! The atmosphere was amazing, the staff were attentive and so friendly, and the food was delicious. Our guests were coming up to us all night to compliment the venue! The accommodation was just what we wanted, and so quirky! Thank you so much to Tessa, Bryce and the team, we're already looking at coming back for our 1st anniversary!We had our wedding reception at The Bell and it was perfect! We had our wedding at The Bell at the beginning of October. Tessa and the Events Team handled everything perfectly all the way through the process. We felt that we asked so many questions, but the team were always happy to help. The day itself was perfect. We’ve been to a lot of weddings where timings fall by the wayside and the bride and groom are running around. The team at The Bell made sure we were all in the right place at the right time and we didn’t have to do anything! The food is exceptional. The decor is unique.
