The Barn has been uniquely reconstructed from a centuries old Elizabethan barn which was originally built in a Kent village and re-erected on its present site in the heart of Royal Tunbridge Wells some years ago.
It is full of oak beams and columns throughout and creates a wonderful atmosphere which is absolutely perfect for weddings.
The traditional Kentish style of the building is complemented with a beautiful stylish Orangery where your ceremony would take place and opens out on to the award-winning courtyard garden.
Another unique feature of The Barn is that you can have exclusive use of the entire venue and gardens with absolutely no venue or reception hire charges, which adds to the exceptional value which our inclusive packages offer.
Your wedding breakfast will be served in our pretty restaurant which is full of rustic atmosphere. Again, uniquely at The Barn, we offer your guests a choice of menu for each course and the inclusive drinks package includes champagne as standard for both reception drinks and the toast.
As the time for dancing approaches, The Barn transforms into a magical and romantic evening venue with the building and garden illuminated in twinkling lights. With no reception venue hire charges, you can invite up to 150 evening guests at no extra cost.
We have made arrangements for specially discounted rates for our wedding guests in nearby selected hotels.

The Barn has been privately owned for 32 years and has been proudly managed this entire time by our General Manager Philippe, who looks forward to personally showing you around our lovely venue.

When commencing our journey of hosting weddings, from the outset my aim was to provide an intimate wedding venue with a more personal approach. For me, the personal approach is important as no two weddings are the same. Getting to know you well during the planning stages ensures I can deliver a wedding unique to you and also the reason we do not employ wedding coordinators.

We'd always wanted somewhere cosy and personal and that was exactly what we got. Janet and Phillipe were brilliant from our first enquiry to having everything packed and ready to go the day after, including my veil that I'd forgotten! They ensured that the Barn was beautifully decorated for us, and worked well with our other suppliers. The food was beautiful, especially our cheese tower. Even little things, like having sausages for our canapes (a sentimental nod to my granny), or doing confetti inside due to the rain, was no trouble. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Barn. - LLouise T06/08/2025The perfect place, the perfect dayThe perfect place, the perfect dayFirstly the basics. The Barn is a lovely spot, the food was excellent and the staff were superb. However, that doesn't nearly begin to do the place justice. From our very first visit it was clear that our wedding plans would be in safe hands. All through the process Phillipe and Janet went out of their way to be helpful. No question was too daft, no request too outlandish for them to consider. I don't know how many ceremonies they do each year at The Barn but there was no sense of this being "just another wedding" for them. Every member of staff - ably led on the day by Anthony - seemed to be aware that this was Louise and Gordon's day and each and every one of them did their utmost to make sure everything was not just perfect, but perfect FOR US. It says a lot that whenever we mentioned the Barn to any of the suppliers connected with our wedding the reaction was always "great venue - they will look after you". They were not wrong! As for our guests, they left raving about the place. Many will be returning for meals - as will we! So to summarise, if you are planning a wedding we cannot recommend the Barn highly enough. Our day was perfect and it meant so much to us that Phillipe, Janet Anthony and co did so much for us to make that happen.Firstly the basics. Janet and Philippe were amazing from start to finish helping us plan our special day. Nothing was too much trouble, and when we provided our decorations the staff put them out perfectly! All of the staff were fantastic, friendly & helpful and a real credit to The Barn. Everybody commented o how delicious the food was, and they were able to provide Vegan and Veggie options for us too. I would fully recommend the Barn for your special day, you won't regret it.We had our Wedding here and it was everything we could have dreamed of. We had the most perfect day. We had a party of 50 and we fitted comfortably. If anyone wants a small but intimate wedding day myself and my new husband could not recommend this venue enough. From the start, it was a smooth easy approach, communication was excellent and both Philippe and Janet (owners) could not have been more approachable. The efficiency of them both is outstanding, the day itself went so smoothly and with no hiccups! We were kept informed throughout the day/evening on everything, the food was so great we had loads of compliments from our family and friends. The service was impeccable, never an empty glass and everyone was so polite! The DJ was amazing he listened to the preferred music taste myself and hubby liked and was really lovely. The buffet was great lots to choose from and again we had so many compliments on that. I can't express the gratitude I have for this venue and the lovely people making it so amazing. If you are thinking of visiting The Barn please do! You will not be disappointed. They were always on hand to answer any queries and put our minds at rest. It was a very stress free experience. The venue was perfect for us and was made even more so with the setting out of our decorations which was done beautifully. Staff where all attentive and friendly and the food was delicious. Not to mention all the little touches they and their staff provided that made it that little bit more personal from helping unload the car when dropping off the day before, moving centre pieces from upstairs to downstairs after the meal, giving us left over bottles of wine to take away to reloading the car when we came to pick it all up! The day was perfect, we want to do it all again and we would 100% recommend it to anyone looking for a more personal venue! Huge thanks again.Perfect wedding day! Philippe, Janet and the team are the lovely, helpful and friendly. They all made our special day that little bit more special. We especially loved how laidback the team were, we went at our own pace, the team fed off our guests and our needs without us asking, timings we’re not stuck in stone so we had the freedom to sneak off to Calverley Park for photos with our amazing photographer (as recommended by the Barn!) and our guests were looked after so well they didn’t notice us gone! From my husband and I, thank you! Our families and friends were so impressed and we all had a fantastic day! See you soon for dinner. The day couldn't possibly have gone more smoothly. It was everything I'd planned and more. Having a free rein to plan the day as I wished was ideal for a control freak like me - and my husband was suitably impressed with my efforts! The Barn looked beautiful and stylishly simple. Just what I'd dreamed of. Our guests have made many comments about how delicious the food was and the waiting staff were very professional - discreetly going about their duties without any disruption to the celebrations. Many special memories were made that day and will be remembered for years to come. Once again, thankyou so much. Chris and myself could not thank you enough, from the very beginning when we were looking to view The Barn right up until the day after you were all so wonderful. You made our day possible, you have been so very helpful with all of our enquiries, millions of questions and plans for the day as was Phillipe during our meetings prior to the big day! Philippe and his team truly made the whole of The Barn look spectacular, making my vision of ‘the perfect venue’ into a reality, it actually exceeded all expectations (apologies to them for having to unpack boxes and boxes of decor) and our guests were blown away with how beautiful the ceremony and reception rooms looked. Now for the food… what can I say?! To start, our guests were astounded at the ability to choose their own food prior to the day and then even more so when we mentioned that we had such a wide and varied choice to narrow it down from. When the food came out everyone was pleased with their choices, all of the food looked delicious and it came out hot and perfectly cooked. Many guests mentioned how they enjoyed the fact they received a ‘proper meal’ unlike most weddings that they had been to before (and we were extremely grateful for our surprise ‘three for me’ puddings too, our favourite!). Although we were too busy dancing to eat much buffet food in the evening the spread looked wonderful and it was great to have been saved a plate by the kitchen to take home at the end of the night, what a lovey touch! We would like to thank Philippe and all of the staff at The Barn for their service on the day, they really did go the extra mile to ensure it all ran smoothly and that we had the perfect day. Phillipe was so organised and helpful throughout and we even got chaperoned to Calverley park by Paul, armed with umbrellas, and showing us all of the best spots for photos. It truly was the most wonderful day, made even more so by friendly, funny and extremely helpful members of the team. Our parents and grandparents have all said how The Barn did us extremely proud, the highest of compliments, and we couldn’t have wished for a better day. Again, thank you so so much for making our day what it was. Beyond expectations, extremely special and so unique. What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
One of the most personal touches I’ve seen at a wedding was when guests gathered outside for group photographs, and the groom had secretly arranged for the bride’s beautiful white horse to arrive just in time for the pictures.
The horse was an important part of the bride’s life, and seeing it there made her very emotional. The guests were amazed and it made for some unforgettable photographs
