From our very first meeting, Claire and the team were incredibly helpful, accommodating, and friendly, and took so much stress away from planning our day. They could not have done any more for us, exceeding our expectations in every single way possible. The chef at the Alverbank (Jack) is incredible - his food is honestly the best around and we have eaten here so many times now it's honestly my favourite place to go. To have him cater our wedding was a privilege and it was the most memorable and exquisite meal - Jack made suggestions and amendments to our choices which levelled them up to such a top tier choice, and it was perfect. The Alverbank went to great lengths to make our day perfect - even setting up the tables and function room completely for us and so much better than we could ever have done! It was such a surprise to be able to walk into our wedding reception and see such a beautiful set up and made it so special for us both. Not only the wedding, planning, meals, and hospitality, the accommodation at the venue is simply amazing. The honeymoon suite is most probably the nicest rooms I have ever stayed in, and that includes our 5-star hotel for honeymoon itself in Devon. It is stunning. The views are incredible, yet it feels private, luxurious, and comfortable. I could have stayed there for weeks!! Our wedding was absolutely MADE by the team at the Alverbank. From the meal the night before, the breakfast the morning after, and the extra touches they made on the day (I noticed the tea lights and added chalk signs, the gift table, and how you coordinated the day so effortlessly, even though you did nothing to boast about these elements) - we are eternally grateful. The venue and team will hold a special place in our hearts forever more. In the lead up to our wedding we had Naval deployments, Cancer Treatment and a cost of living crisis but yet Claire was calm, understanding and compassionate. When we found out, we thought that our money and hopes of getting married here were lost. Fortunately, Abby took over and couldn't of done more to help us. We then had meetings with Claire, our wedding co-ordinator, who further put our minds at ease that we would get the day of our dreams. The day was faultless, Ethan helped organise the day and was also superb. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. The ladies behind the bar late into the evening were fabulous. Thank you all of you!! The setting looked outstanding, the food was delicious, and the view was beautiful. It was everything we hoped for, and so much more. Everything went smoothly and to plan. The weather was excellent, the venue was excellent, the food was excellent and the staff were amazing. Claire looked after us from the get go and was fully catered to all our needs. We had a slightly unconventional wedding. Our dress code was casual, the food was a BBQ, (Half Vegan) we had a silent disco, Photo Booth, Coloured Smoke bombs for the photos and we even had a tattooist booked for the day to give our guests something permanent to remember the day (hahaha) None of this was an issue for Claire, and she was more than happy to do something a little different. I would highly recommend using the Alverbank as a wedding venue to anyone.We had our wedding at the Alverbank on the 2nd September 2023. We could not have asked for a better day or a better venue. Everything went smoothly and to plan. The weather was excellent, the venue was excellent, the food was excellent and the staff were amazing. They answered all of our questions so quickly, and they bent over backwards for us throughout the whole process. I want to say a special thank you to Claire! Claire listened to everything that we wanted and gave us such a personal and special day. Claire tailored everything to exactly what we wanted. I loved our meetings with Claire and we had so much fun planning everything with her. Claire is so bubbly and kind, and we hope she knows how amazing she is!! One of the main things we loved about the Alverbank was how intimate the venue was, and how the only people there were the family and friends who were part of the wedding party. This made the day extra special for us. We would recommend the Alverbank 1000000 times over!
