London’s beloved and Iconic Gherkin has remained a key feature of London’s modern and ever-changing skyline. Create long lasting memories and invite your guests to enjoy the sweeping skyline while sipping on Champagne as the sun sets over the city.
Our Exclusive event spaces on levels 39 and 40 are licensed for civil ceremonies for up to 140 guests. This allows us to invite couples to say ‘I do’ over one of the city’s most impressive views.
Dining at the very top, underneath the dome, surrounded by London’s night sky, Searcys creates a wonderfully warm and romantic atmosphere and if there’s one thing we’re passionate about it’s our food. Weddings at The Gherkin are lavishly catered for with bespoke menus created by the Searcys at the Gherkin head chef.
Each Bride and Groom will have the benefit of one of our experienced wedding Coordinators to assist them with all aspects of planning their special day. Our dedicated Teams will ensure that you receive the highest level of service at every step – so that you can enjoy your celebration as much as your guests.
For a more intimate wedding, our newly opened private dining rooms are ideal for more smaller dining experiences and celebrations. Sitting high above London on the 38th floor, the rooms share the same incredible backdrop views are named after clouds: Alto, Cirrus, Stratus, Cumulus and Nimbus.
The cloud inspired rooms are perfect to hold a dinner for just 10 guests or a larger gathering can be held for up to 60 guests across the whole floor.

It ticked all the boxes and couldn't be more grateful for how it turned out. The guests loved the venue too and am especially thankful to Sarah and Shelley-Ann for helping us to organise our special day. They were super helpful throughout, Sarah was very organised and made sure everything went to plan on the day!!I was looking for the perfect wedding venue, something central (easily accessible) and memorable. It ticked all the boxes and couldn't be more grateful for how it turned out. The guests loved the venue too and am especially thankful to Sarah and Shelley-Ann for helping us to organise our special day. Organising weddings is always tough, but we were so lucky that you kept it professional and always looked for solutions. We're fully aware how creative you and the team had to be with the circumstances and restrictions constantly changing - it was a very difficult balance to keep us happy and stay within the rules, and we will always remember the efforts you went to to put us first. We had such a lovely day! The build up had drained us, and Covid changes left us deflated occasionally (we almost called it off a few times!), but in the end our wedding was even better than we had hoped. The set up was brilliant. Tasteful, elegant and slick. When I came in to drop some stuff off in the morning, my 'Groom-nerves' disappeared when I looked around the venue and I instantly trusted that we were in good hands for the rest of the day. All of our requests were met, and you were able to fill in any blanks because you clearly had a good understanding of what we wanted. John had a tough job too - walking the tightrope between virus guidelines and keeping the guests happy - and we'd like to say thanks to him. The whole Searcy's team were excellent. Masked up the whole day, always available, always friendly. We could tell that there were big smiles behind those masks and we hope that everyone's jobs are safe as we go into a new lockdown. Out of everyone, I'd like to pay special thanks to Mehmet (I hope I spelt that right!). He was there at 9am, and still there at 10pm. He was attentive, prompt, gracious, effective and discreet. He engineered a smooth walk-down-the-aisle for Kiru which we will both remember forever. He double and triple-checked the food serving times and I even spotted a covert nappy removal which was beyond the call of duty! The food tasting session was really helpful, and an enjoyable memorable occasion in its own right. Thanks to the chef and his staff for adapting the menu and for accommodating each guest's individual requirements. We thought the food was scrumptious and all the guests agreed! I hope I've covered everyone and everything, and please feel free to use any of the above in your advertising. We enjoyed working with you and planning everything, it was personally satisfying to see it all come together. Erika and I had a wonderful day, it was truly the happiest day of our lives; everything was perfect. We’re so glad we decided to have our wedding at the Gherkin, it's such an incredible venue, all of our guests had a great time. I’d also like to provide some feedback on Mehmet: Meeting with us the day before, he took the time to take us through all of the details, explained everything clearly and put both of us at ease. We felt confident that the event would be a success in his capable hands. On the day of the wedding, Mehmet provided customer service at the highest level, going out of his way to look after all of the guests, co-ordinate all of the suppliers arriving and provide outstanding table service to everyone. I still have no idea how he managed to find the time to look after me, Erika, the registrars, the photographer, the guests and the cake delivery, all at the same time! He was able to handle high pressure situations calmly and professionally, and was directly responsible for the entire day being a huge success. His care and attention to detail ensured that everyone felt safe, and we were able to enjoy a wonderful celebration from start to finish. Our guests told us that the service was excellent, we are overjoyed that our guests still had a great time despite the difficult circumstances. It’s not an understatement to say that Mehmet went the extra mile for us, and that the day would not have been a success without him. More personally, Erika and I were both very nervous on the day, Mehmet spent time with both of us, helping to calm us down and re-assuring us. The views are breathtaking during the day - having our ceremony in the sky above london. The beautiful sunset and then at night the lights of central London that surrounded us through the 360° glass dome created a both a glamourous and magical atmosphere. All this in an iconic internationally renowned building. Couldn't recommend enough. The practical side is perfect too. No weather conditions affect the day, everything in the venue is taken care of by the staff centrally so we did not have any stress or organising to do with different service providers on the day at all and could take in every moment of an incredible day. No herding around our guests to different places which maximised our day. We are passionate about food and it was amazing! The menu was fantastic and the choices we made were delicious and like nothing our guests has tasted anywhere else. If you're reading this and wondering whether or not this venue is for you, so was I!
