While we don’t have outdoor space for photography, we offer plenty of stunning options within the hotel and nearby for capturing beautiful memories. Just a five-minute walk from the hotel, you can explore Union Terrace Gardens, Aberdeen Art Gallery, Marischal College, and the charming cobbled streets—perfect for an urban photography backdrop. For a more nature-filled setting, we’re also a short drive from Duthie Park, Victoria Park, and Johnston Gardens, each offering picturesque landscapes for wedding photos.

From start to finish nothing was an issue and the whole day went like clockwork. Molly made the experience hassle free, with great communication through out the planning process and the whole team on the day were excellent. Everyone commented on how amazing the venue was and the staff were fantastic. I can’t thank everyone enough for making our wedding day so special and stress free. Molly Gray our events manager did an exceptional job of organising our wedding. From start to finish nothing was an issue and the whole day went like clockwork. The service they offer is superb and on the day they could not have been more helpful, ensuring we were both ok and making sure both we and our guests were where we needed to be at the right time! The events staff and everyone in between went above and beyond to ensure our day ran as smooth as it did. I have never been so chilled out during the entirety of an event I have organised. Nothing was ever a problem and they were the most attentive people ever. The packages included were very much in budget and I am so glad we chose to have our special day at Sandman Aberdeen.We couldn’t fault the staff at Sandman Aberdeen whatsoever. Molly was so quick at replying to any queries and questions we had from when we booked the venue 2 years ago until the day of. Russell was fabulous on the day making sure everyone knew when and where they were meant to be. Everything flowed perfectly and their were no issues or things that didn't go quite to plan. Everything came together so well in the end. So spacious. Lots of areas We couldn't be happier with the end result. The sandman Aberdeen will forever have a special place in our hearts.The sandman was the most beautiful venue for our wedding. Combined with yellow couches, seagull-shaped lights and cowhide chairs, they create a dramatic, arty first impression. What’s your favourite canapé?
Haggis bon bons are a fantastic choice for a canapé! They combine the rich, savory flavours of traditional Scottish haggis with the crispy, golden exterior of a deep-fried snack. The contrast in textures is what makes them so delightful—crispy on the outside, with the creamy, spiced haggis filling inside. They make for a crowd-pleasing treat.

What is your venue's most unique feature?
A historic yet modern hotel in the heart of Aberdeen! The hotel is made of granite, giving a sense of timelessness blended with it's contemporary vibe. A combination of something old and something new. The building itself, is unique and full of history, whilst incorporating modern touches throughout the hotel for example our unique coloured umbrellas in the lobby, next to exposed original granite wall
What part of your business are you most proud of?
A great team can really make all the difference. Perfect balance of hard-working to ensure that things get done, but having a light-hearted vibe helps everyone stay motivated and maintain a positive atmosphere
