The traditional barn stands proud beside the peaceful lake and surrounding scenery. Oak beams offer an authentic feel while expansive windows let the light flood in. Sandhole Oak Barn is wonderfully versatile and can be divided into two parts for the different aspects of your day. Tie the knot in the Ceremony Barn and celebrate in the Dining Barn, which can accommodate weddings of 40 guests up to larger weddings of 140 day guests and 180 evening guests For something truly different, hold your ceremony under the majestic Oak Clock Tower just a few feet from the lake. There really is nowhere else quite like it. Take to the veranda overlooking the lake with a glass of bubbly and delicious canapés to toast your newlywed status and soak up the tranquility. In the winter, the barn provides plenty of space to mingle with your guests while still enjoying the stunning views through the expansive windows. The natural beauty of the Dining Barn makes it a flexible and inviting setting for your reception any time of year. Whatever the season, the lake and surrounding countryside create an enchanting backdrop throughout your day. New for 2026 – an exciting new chapter at Sandhole Oak Barn
In early 2026, Sandhole will undergo an exciting transformation to make your wedding day even more amazing. We’ll be reimagining The Dressing Room as a calm, light-filled prep space, creating a brand-new kitchen to bring catering in-house, redesigning the Breakfast Room with farmhouse charm, and giving The Granary Cottage honeymoon suite a luxurious makeover.
Every update has been carefully planned to keep comfort, atmosphere and those all-important details at the heart of your day. Check out our website Blog for more details.
We see so many different styles of weddings because our barn is so versatile, hence its difficult to have a favourite. However, we really love the "family weddings" where everyone is very relaxed & enjoying the extra time they can spend together with the exclusive use & the lovely onsite Sandhole Farm B&B accommodation.
Don't stress about the small details, your family & friends will remember watching you saying "I do" far longer than the colour of the sashes on your chairs!
We often see a little tipi or bell tent at weddings, with lots of crafts for the children to do, supervised by some lovely ladies - the kids have a wonderful time & their parents can relax knowing they're well looked after & also enjoying the wedding.
Tranquil, bespoke, intimate, rural, idyllic.
We have a huge range of backdrops for wedding photos, whatever the weather or season, but the one that we (& many of our couples) love the most is by the lake, especially when its complimented by the backdrop of the setting sun.
We've seen lots of celebrity guests at our venue over the years, but the ones that most people remember were the 2 penguin ring bearers waddling down the aisle! They were used to the limelight having starred in various films & seemed to enjoy the wedding just as much as the other guests!
The Rare Angus Beef Crostini Topped with a Spicy Red Onion Chutney has to be one of my favourites, although there are so many lovely options to choose from its very difficult to choose.
As simple as it is, I love a bacon roll, especially when its premium bacon cooked so its a bit crispy
Our venue is set on the shores of a large private lake - the view is constantly changing throughout the seasons & through the day. Two of my favourite times are in Autumn when the mist is just hanging over the water lit up by the rising sun, & when the oranges, pinks & reds of the setting sun are reflected in the lake & - its a stunning backdrop for wedding photos!
We're a family business & despite having hosted weddings for over 28 years (we were the first farm to offer civil ceremony weddings!), we've remained true to our ethos of putting our couples & their guests first.
