Rumbolds Barn provides a unique 16th Century location for a very special wedding reception or function. It is located on a stud farm surrounded by 100 acres of pasture and ancient oak forests on the Surrey / Sussex border between Haslemere, Godalming and Petworth. It has its own half mile lane leading from Plaistow village centre. We limit the number of functions so we can provide a unique and tailor made occasion for you. The Barn dates from 1578 is in excellent condition with oak beams with a large fire place..There is also a bar. The barn is fronted by a large covered drinks patio, and adjoins a flower laden pergola leading out to a large lake, stunning gardens, and beautiful views of pasture and woodland beyond - perfect photo opportunities. Rumbolds Farm has a bridal cottage for hire suitable for bride and groom to stay with an oak double bed, big en suite bathroom, kitchenette, long mirror, wide screen TV, free coffee, 16C rooms. There is also another level access cottage close to the house with double bedroom, sitting room and bathroom. There is also other accommodation for guests.

What an amazing day!What an amazing day!
We got married at Rumbold’s recently, and it was absolutely incredible. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect venue. With two beautiful barns, a charming courtyard featuring a large umbrella, and lovely outdoor spaces, the venue offered plenty of flexibility for both wet and dry weather. We were lucky to have a sunny late September day, which allowed us to hold our ceremony in the rustic barn and enjoy our reception drinks outside. One of the things we loved most about this family-run venue is how it caters to weddings of all budgets. As a DIY-friendly space, it gives couples the freedom to showcase their personalities with very few restrictions. Another standout feature was having access to the venue for several days, allowing us to truly make it our own and spend quality time with family and friends in the lead-up to the big day. With Chris’s support and the help of our amazing suppliers, we were able to bring our vision to life and have a truly perfect wedding day. This venue is incredible, and the owners couldn’t do enough for you and help in every way they can!!! An absolute pleasure to deal with them and answered all our worries and question So much inside space and out, a smaller barn were we had our ceremony and then a large barn where we had 13 tables a band and our bar With onsite accommodation for close family members and the glamping tipi’s were perfect for us Thank you Rumbolds we will forever be supporting you from afar x This venue is incredible, and the owners couldn’t do enough for you and help in every way they can!!! The MOST AMAZING Day!!The MOST AMAZING Day!!
Well Rumbolds Farm... there are no words as to just how fabulous a wedding we had at the stunning Rumbolds Farm. This was the first place we visited and fell in love with it instantly and booked within a few days. Both the inside and outside spaces are brilliant, with the gardens and patio areas well cared for and bursting with colour with flowers everywhere you look. Plus the onsite accommodation was a big selling point and we took full advantage of both the rooms and glamping. We wanted a DIY wedding where we were not going to be dictated too on what we could and couldn't do, suppliers we had to have, stupid corkage fees etc and this is exactly what Rumbolds offers. We had a lot of 'stuff' so had lots of setting up to do, it was brilliant to be allowed access from the wed until the sun, there was no rush and nothing was too much trouble for anyone. Chris, Susie and Andrew, a family run business are so welcoming and Andrew was such a good sport with some of our silly ideas when he beautifully performed our ceremony as a celebrant. Every single one of our guests absolutely loved the venue from the moment they drove up the tree lined drive, it really is a hidden gem! Chris and the team, we cannot thank you enough for the fabulous day we had, for being on board with all of our crazy ideas and allowing us to really make our special day our own. If you are looking for an amazing place run by lovely people, look no further, you've found it. The perfect venue for our big day! The perfect venue for our big day!
We had our wedding at Rumbolds Farm and it was absolutely perfect – we honestly can’t imagine having celebrated anywhere else. From our very first visit we felt right at home and just knew it was the venue for us. One of the biggest selling points was being able to have the venue exclusively from Wednesday to Sunday, which is so rare compared to the more ‘wedding machine’ style venues. It gave us time to settle in, make the space our own, and really enjoy the whole experience without feeling rushed. The family-run feel made everything so personal and special. Chris was amazing throughout the planning process – answering every question we had and then seamlessly managing all of our suppliers on the day so we didn’t have to worry. Suzy’s breakfast for our guests in mornings was such a lovely touch and so appreciated by everyone. Andrew, as our celebrant, brought warmth and personality to the ceremony. The venue being dog-friendly was another huge bonus for us – our dog Alma stayed with us for the full four days and even got to be our ring bearer, which made it extra special. We loved how flexible the space was; we were able to add so many personal touches to make the venue truly ours. Our guests also loved being able to glamp or camp on site which meant the party could continue afterwards. All in all, we had the best weekend of our lives at Rumbolds Farm. It felt like home, it felt like ours, and it was everything we had hoped for and more. Fantastic countryside wedding venueFantastic countryside wedding venue
We looked at a load of wedding venues in the Surrey/West Sussex area and Rumbolds really stood out as soon as we went to see it. The barn and garden set up is beautiful and the Robertson family were lovely and incredibly accommodating. We had been frustrated with venues that had lots of restrictions on suppliers, timings (ie when you get access and have to leave) and lots of hidden extra costs. It was incredibly refreshing to visit Rumbolds and realise we’d have the venue almost the whole week from Wednesday to Sunday and would be able to pretty much do whatever we wanted with it to make it personal. It really meant we could make the day our own rather than have another run of the mill wedding which was the same as the 5 other weddings at the venue that week! The venue itself has lots of good spaces, including the beautiful lawn, rustic timber framed barn and larger barn, which we used for our evening party. The availability of a camping field (for free) and bell tents to hire was a major plus. We, and all our friends, camped and it was so much fun to be able to keep the party going. The bell tents from Belle Tents Plaistow were really cute and really were the definition of ‘glamping’! We also were able to host a BBQ the next day for people on site and for guests to return, which was a nice touch and made sure we made the most of our time with people who had travelled a long way. Chris was always available over email and text to talk to us about our ideas ahead of the wedding and help bounce ideas off him. He was there on the day to ensure everything ran smoothly, welcoming suppliers and being there to greet guests and help them park. He did a wonderful job and really made sure the day ran smoothly which was a massive help! If you’re looking for a cute, rustic venue with the flexibility to make it your own I would 100% recommend Rumbolds as it really does offer so much that you won’t be able to find at other venues - a real gem! From the moment we viewed Rumbolds we fell in love with the venue and the owners. Chris and Suzie were accommodating, friendly and on hand from the time we booked. We had the whole venue for 5 days, this took the stress and any pressure away from preparations and gave us plenty of time to enjoy. The venue itself, just incredible, an open canvas to plan as we wished with flexible options to hold our ceremony and wedding breakfast. We decided on a less is more when decorating the barns as they were just perfect for our style. Using our own vendors and not being told we had to use certain companies was a huge bonus. There was the use of the accommodation, as well as onsite glamping for guests. Our wedding day...just wow! We were lost for words how everything came together seamlessly. We had the most amazing day and our guests loved everything. Memories made for a lifetime. Amazing wedding dayAmazing wedding day
We arrived to drop items off on the Wednesday (Friday wedding) and Chris was extremely accommodating. We returned on the Thursday with our families to set up the venue for Friday. Chris was always around to welcome vendors who were dropping off flowers and the crockery. Chris also kindly help set up the chairs for the wedding ceremony and the tables and chairs in the barn for the evening guests. Breakfast was provided on Friday morning by Chris and his delightful Mother. Whilst people got ready Chris was watering the plants and doing any odd jobs as well as welcoming the caterers, photographer and bar staff. Throughout the day Chris was available as and when we needed him. On Saturday, breakfast was again served by Chris and his Mother before assisting with the clearing up post wedding. The accomodation was ample for our families but the kitchen lacked enough basic amenities for the numbers it can accommodate. Examples of this were oven gloves, and cooking utensils which did not allow us to use the kitchen to it's full potential. The second area of improvement for us would be that there are recycling facilities on site as we threw a lot of paper/cardboard material away into general waste. The areas of improvement do not take away what a fantastic venue this is, and what a perfect host Chris was throughout our stay. Thank you for the magical wedding. It's hard to put into words, just how special a place Rumbolds Farm is. We had visited multiple wedding venues but then found Rumbolds Farm and knew from the moment we drove in through the beautiful driveway with trees along each side - that this venue stood out from the rest. The fact it's surrounded by incredible greenery with the gardens, wildlife and has the lake - it's absolutely STUNNING and the old barn is amazing. The option to get married outside weather depending was great too. Chris, Susie and Andrew were absolutely fantastic and attentive right from when we went to view it, all the way up to our special day. The whole experience was 5 stars, we would give 10 if we could! Everyone commented on what an incredible place it is. It’s more of a DIY setup than some wedding venues and for us that was perfect because we could put our own stamp on it - our own caterers, our own décor etc. Chris and team said “treat it as your home” which was truly wonderful. Also, the fact you can get in four days before to set up is unheard of and made everything so much less stressful. The accommodation and bridal cottage are beautiful, and our guests loved the breakfasts Susie made and the glamping is another bonus too. THANK YOU Rumbolds. From the minute we opened the gates to rumbolds we were captivated by its beauty. It’s the kind of venue that you walk in and it puts its arms round you, it feels so wholesome and loved. We knew it was the perfect fit for our special day. We cannot thank rumbolds and all the staff/family enough for giving us the opportunity to have the venue from the Wednesday for our Saturday wedding. We decorated our wedding ourselves so having the opportunity to do this early on and ENJOY it was just the best! Having that time with our families setting up was so special and we have memories we will both cherish forever. The wedding day itself was absolutely MAGIC. Chris the venue manager was absolutely brilliant, so professional and handled everything behind the scenes. It was seamless. In all honesty if you are looking for a venue and team that make you feel like the world has stopped for you both and this is your moment to shine then book this. From the moment we walked through the gates at Rumbolds Farm we knew it was the perfect location for our wedding. We fell in love with the outdoor areas- the beautiful flowers, picturesque pond, seating area on the patio with a gazebo for the hot days and the immensely peaceful atmosphere was all perfect for us (we even saw a duck and her ducklings pottering around the lawn!). Being outdoorsy by nature, we absolutely loved the fact that our guests could camp or use the super glamping bell-tents and we enjoyed a relaxed end to the evening around the fire pit. It was also great for our child-guests who had the best time playing on the lawn, swings and admiring the nature. A key feature that we loved about Rumbolds was that they only have one wedding per week so you have time to set it up and make it yours beforehand, and we also had a picnic on the Sunday afternoon which gave us more much-needed time with guests coming from further away. The two good-sized barns enabled us to eat in one and dance the night away in the other which meant that the organisation of the day flowed easily. The house attached was perfect for our bridal party and we absolutely loved The Lodge- our own bridal suit for the night. Chris, was fantastic and made us feel relaxed throughout the planning process. He had great recommendations for caterers and suppliers and he was there to greet and welcome us and them all on the day.
