- The Anthony Hopkins Centre: Perfect for couples dreaming of timeless romance, this venue is housed in the original Cardiff Castle stables. It features a charming open-air courtyard and a tree-lined avenue with views of the castle—ideal for intimate ceremonies and receptions.
- The Modern Atrium: For a contemporary and dramatic vibe, the glass-walled atrium offers a stunning backdrop. Its open-air terrace overlooks the lush greenery of Bute Park, making it perfect for champagne receptions and unforgettable photos.
Flexible Ceremony and Reception Spaces
The Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama is licensed for civil ceremonies and offers versatile spaces to suit weddings of all sizes—from intimate gatherings to grand celebrations.
- Intimate Ceremonies: Choose from two elegant rooms in the historic building: the Weston Gallery, seating up to 80 guests, or the Corus Suite, with its distinctive spiral staircase, accommodating up to 60 guests.
- Larger Celebrations: The modern atrium can host ceremonies for up to 120 guests, set against the beautiful backdrop of Bute Park. For a truly unique experience, you can even say your vows on the stage of a world-class concert hall.
- Receptions: The glass-walled entrance hall and terrace can seat up to 200 guests for your wedding breakfast. Later, the space transforms for the evening party, welcoming up to 300 guests with a licensed bar and dance floor.

Your dedicated wedding manager will guide you through every detail to ensure your day runs smoothly. The in-house catering team will craft a bespoke menu tailored to your tastes and dietary needs. For a memorable arrival, you and your guests can approach the venue through Bute Park by car, horse and cart, or even by water taxi. The stunning foyer with the floor to ceiling windows looking in to Bute Park sell it. But there are so many gorgeous ceremony rooms and areas which are also included in the hire. Laura Jayne and Sharon were fantastic and such lovely ladies too. I’m told by a lot of guests that the food was fabulous, we had the street food option (I had a knot in my stomach most of the day so unable to eat, annoyingly!) The team ran the day so well, I didn’t even have to think about it. Wish I could do it all over again. Thank you, RWCMD XXWe only viewed this venue as it so perfectly fit what we were looking for. We had our truly unique wedding there recently and were blown away by how flexible and welcoming the staff at the venue were. Just brilliant. I can’t thank the venue and staff enough, their attention to detail was impeccable! We had so many compliments on the venue and especially the food! We had 140 guests in the day and more in the evening, it is a perfect, modern venue for large weddings. Even though we got married in December it still felt light and warm inside. Their communication was great all the way through and venue visits were really helpful. I didn’t have any stress on the day because I felt so comfortable with how well they had everything handled. Can’t thank or recommend them enough! We held our wedding at the RWCMD and we had the most amazing day! I can’t thank the venue and staff enough, their attention to detail was impeccable! As soon as I contacted Royal Welsh we had a meeting booked in straight away. Throughout this whole process royal Welsh have been amazing and definitely kept me from being stressed during the wedding planning. I would not recommend them enough and I would like to say a massive thank you to the whole team for helping our day go as smoothly as possible.As soon as we got engaged, we knew we wanted a lot of our friends and family to be part of our big day and the biggest part of that would be choosing our venue. From the first appointment to the big day they could not have been more kind and helpful! They took note of every little detail and really felt like they got to know us personally and because of this were able to make sure everything was just as we had imagined! The venue was just gorgeous in so many ways, we had so many compliments throughout the day and afterwards. The food was to die for!! There is not one thing I would have changed, and I would encourage anyone thinking of having this as their wedding venue to go ahead with it 100%, you will not regret it!We could not have asked for a better day or for a better venue!
