Prested Hall is a beautiful house, hidden away at the end of a tree-lined drive and nestled within the picturesque Essex countryside. We offer our couples exclusivity for their wedding, Prested is yours and yours alone on your big day. The Hall has hosted thousands of magical celebrations over the past 20 years, all as unique as the couples themselves. Prested Hall offers versatility in all things and is perfectly suited to those who prefer intimate or larger, day and evening celebrations alike. We have four very different spaces which are licensed for civil ceremonies including our panelled Oak Room with feature fireplace and stunning stained glass; The Garden Room, originally the ballroom for The Hall offering stunning views of the surrounding parkland and our pretty waterside gazebo which is the perfect backdrop for outdoor ceremonies in the warmer months and our largest space inside The Hall - The Orangery, this room is bright and airy and has views across the moat and parkland beyond. Manicured lawns surround The Hall where guests can enjoy some drinks, canapés, and garden games in the summer while your photographer captures those special newlywed moments. A real log fire in the lounge and a wealth of period features create amazing backdrops inside The Hall whatever the weather. A traditional, dressed marquee stands proudly on the lawn during the summer months and can seat up to 220 guests. Our grand Orangery has stunning panoramic views over the water and grounds to the rear of The Hall can seat 120 guests and accommodate 200 people for your evening celebrations. At the end of your celebrations, you and your guests can have a fantastic night’s sleep in one of our 13 boutique bedrooms. Our venue hire charge includes exclusive use of Prested Hall from 10.00am on your wedding day, until midnight. Overnight accommodation is available for yourselves and up to 30 guests, a continental buffet breakfast is provided and check out is 10am. Use of our Bridal Cottage is also included for the brides preparations. From our beautiful reception rooms to the stunning outdoor wooden gazebo, manicured lawns and tranquil waters, our Award Winning venue really is the perfect backdrop for your special day. All couples are allocated their personal wedding co-ordinator who will work alongside you during your planning stages, liaise with your suppliers and be there by your sides on the wedding day itself. The co-ordinator will head up a team of amazing staff on the wedding day, who are there to cater to you and your guests requirements.

Let’s start by saying ‘what isn’t there to recommend at Prested Hall’. From the moment we went to view the location to host our wedding, we instantly knew this was the right place 🤩. Everything about this beautiful venue is truly amazing. The rooms are stunning, the food is to die for and the staff are absolutely outstanding. They are so attentive, they go the extra mile all the time without even thinking about it. We were one of the unfortunate couples to have our wedding cancelled the night before back in March 2020 as we went into lockdown and all the way through our wedding coordinator, Gemma has been there with us every single step of the way. Gemma constantly kept us positive during the 18 months we waited to finally have day. We really cannot praise the venue and staff enough, so much so that we actually call them our Prested family. This is the only place to host your wedding or any other event, you will never be disappointed 🥰Let’s start by saying ‘what isn’t there to recommend at Prested Hall’. Unique & One of a KindUnique & One of a Kind
My husband and I were very lucky to get married here 01.08.2021. Being a 'Covid Bride' was extremely difficult with the unknown future and postponement of our planned date buy, Karen was very accommodating with all our requests and changes we lhad to make to plans. Despite booked the date back early 2019 and the peolonged wait, our day was just amazing and we are so grateful it was as special as we hoped. I couldn't recommend this venue enough and our wedding will be a day we talk about for many of years to come. Thank you for all the support and hard work that made our day unique and one of a kind. A Hidden GemA Hidden Gem
We were lucky enough to get married at Prested Hall on the 14th August 2021 and it was absolutely perfect. We looked at many venues but after simply arriving at Prested Hall we both could see ourselves getting married here, which hadn’t happened at any other venue. Once we were shown round we were hooked, there are so many options for the layout of your day, which is unusual, the grounds are stunning and we were lucky enough on the day to have great weather and to get married outside! The team at Prested were excellent from day one, Gemma was an absolute star throughout and made the day run seamlessly. You can’t underestimate how much has to be managed on your wedding day and thanks to Gemma we didn’t even have to think about anything, she was there with her calm and relaxed approach making sure every tiny detail was covered. The bar and waiting staff were also great, special mention for Joe who was a hit with our family and friends and the food was amazing. From our tasting meeting through to the day and the visits in between every meal was delicious, numerous guests commented on the fact it was the best wedding food they’d ever had! So put simply Prested Hall is a hidden gem, we are so pleased we found it for our special day and we will be back time and time again to enjoy the stunning grounds and delicious food and to see the team who made our day perfect. My then fiancée (now wife) and I first visited Prested Hall in early 2019 whilst looking at potential wedding venues. In addition to being immediately struck by the premises and grounds which were on offer we were also immediately struck by the genuine warmth and helpfulness of the staff - this was by far and away above anything that we had seen at other venues and I must say that the attentiveness and overall manner of Gemma Jouques (who would go on to be our Event Manager) was a huge factor in our decision to get married at Prested Hall. With a wedding scheduled for June 2020 we were unfortunately impacted by the Coronavirus outbreak and forced into a postponement. Gemma and the team were so far ahead of other venues in their handling of this and they contacted us in March 2020 to offer us the option to postpone at no extra charge. Whilst postponing ones wedding is a heartbreaking thing to have to do, the compassion and genuine desire to help by all at Prested made the situation so much more comfortable. By acting so early on and ahead of other venues we were able to move quickly and secure the majority of our original suppliers for the new date of June 2021. 2021 arrived and sadly our second date fell ahead of the lifting of all restrictions. Whilst elsewhere I was hearing horror stories of other venues forcing people into going ahead on a massively reduced basis, Prested were again in touch early on to offer us a further postponement - again at no cost to us. We were able to move to a third date of the August BH weekend and with our wedding now just over a week ago I can honestly say that it was the best day of our life. The service from all areas was second to none - whether it be friendly bar or waiting staff on the day or Housekeeping staff working quickly to ensure hotel rooms were ready early for guests. All of this was underpinned by Gemma and her attention to detail was exemplary. There is not a single thing that she did not think of and she ensured that any last minute stress on the morning was avoided with her calm manner. We have been delighted throughout that we chose Prested but they exceeded even our wildest expectations at every step. During a time when so many businesses have used the pandemic as an excuse to hide behind for poor service, Prested have gone out of their way to ensure that they do all that they can to minimise the impact of the virus on Couples’ Wedding days. We held our wedding at Prested hall on 25.7.21. We are lucky to say we didn’t have to move our date once but the uncertainty of COVID-19 was made easier with the helpful events staff at Prested (big shout out to Gemma & Karen!). They eased our concerns and when it came to the actual day, they worked so hard behind the scenes making sure it run smoothly. We highly recommend booking your day here for a friendly, personal and super efficient service! We made most of our decorations and they accommodated everything we wanted. Everyone of the team (bar, kitchen, events, reception, spa etc) made our wedding the best day we could ever have imagined & we love Prested Hall so much. It was truly perfect.It was truly perfect.
What can I say about this venue. You’ve been absolutely amazing, from the moment we booked to eventually having our day on Saturday you’ve been there supporting and being so accommodating. Thank you to Gemma especially for being that glass half full and keeping us positive throughout. And on the day itself for helping us so much and running around after us. It truly was perfect. We had our wedding there on sat 26/6/2021. What a beautiful place for a wedding, the hotel with lovely rooms for guests, the grounds and lake are immaculate. Their marquee was beautiful and brand new, ( we were the first to use it). The staff were fantastic and made the day perfect, nothing was to much trouble for them. The catering for our wedding breakfast was delicious and plentiful so was the evening BBQ. At this time of writing discos and are not allowed except first dance, but this didn’t spoil our day. Cannot praise Prested enough, we had a fantastic day here despite the previous 18 months. Our wedding day was put back by a year due to COVID. We were very apprehensive but Gemma and the team ironed out all our worries. They are truly amazing!! We were originally getting married outside but the weather had other ideas, out back up plan was the oak room, the team made this a magical experience, we loved every minute, highly recommended Prested to everyone, thank you so much xxxCannot praise Prested enough, we had a fantastic day here despite the previous 18 months. To All of the AMAZING Staff at Prested Hall, Words just cannot simply express enough our gratitude to each and every one of you who had played a huge part in the most memorable part of our lives. We held our wedding at your venue and it is actually us who feel extremely lucky to have chosen to hold our wedding day there. For the entire duration of our stay there, but in particular our wedding day, the service was just ‘PERFECT’ and this was because all of you had played a massive part in this. Not only was the venue beautifully breath-taking, but all of you staff members were FANTASTIC. All of our guests had actually remarked on the exceptional service & friendliness too. Each and every one of you are all a huge credit to ‘Prested Hall’ and to all of the couples out there who have also been fortunate enough to have held their wedding day there too.The service was impeccable. All of you had went the extra mile and it was clearly genuine and sincere. It is evident that you guys genuinely care very much to ensure that the newlyweds and their guests have the best day possible. The care and attention shown towards the guests is second to none. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?

We have hosted so many beautiful weddings that it's difficult to choose just one! Each has their own wonderful theme with so much attention to detail, but some recent weddings that stand out are a 60's themed wedding where the bride was escorted down the drive by 50 vintage scooters, an Alice in Wonderland themed wedding and one couple hired a hot air balloon in which they got some amazing pictures!

What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Choose a venue like Prested, where you will be allocated your own personal wedding co-ordinator. Build a relationship with them and it will be worth its weight in gold. Our wedding planners will take care of every last little detail, including contacting your suppliers, ensuring times are confirmed and making your day run smoothly.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

At a wedding recently we had place cards to put out on the table plan, but each person had been allocated a special animal place card holder. It was a lovely detail and each guest got to keep their particular animal to take home as a memento of the wedding, we love seeing the individual and personal touches at each wedding.

Romantic, flexible, welcoming, warm, friendly

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?

All of our couples love having their photo taken on our oak bridge across the 15th century moat. Evening photos are beautiful on our lit driveway or beneath the fairy lit porch. There are so many great photo opportunities for photographers around the grounds here at Prested Hall, we even have a swing!

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?

Yes, we've had many celebrities here at Prested, but we are too discrete to mention them by name

What’s your favourite canapé?

Personally, we love a mini Yorkshire pudding with roast beef and horseradish or tempura king prawns!

What is your venue's most unique feature?

Our 15th Century moat, and the pretty wooden gazebo next to it, fully licensed for outdoor ceremonies.

What part of your business are you most proud of?

Our staff - nothing is ever too much trouble and all our staff have the same kind-hearted nature. We're human beings - we're often in tears at the weddings ourselves - and nothing matters more to us than our guests happiness, just take a look at our reviews
