With 4 unique venues within 3500 acres of land, you can create the wedding of your dreams. From the breathtaking views from the Belvedere Tower across the Exe Estuary, to the rustic charm of the Old Riding School, the enchanting Woodland Garden complete with 18th century Pavillion, or the showstopping setting of the 600 year old Castle, these fully licenced venues are all available for your Big Day.
Powderham Castle is licenced for civil ceremonies and our Chapel for blessings, with plenty of options for your reception for a truly tailored-to-you feel.
If you’re in need of suppliers, we can recommend a range of trusted contacts, from photographers to florists to caterers, who have regularly worked with Powderham Castle. Anything you desire to create your unique wedding day; we will be on hand to assist.
Acccommodation the night before in our Bridal Suite and the night of your wedding in the Honeymoon Suite overlooking the Deer Park and Estuary. We offer an additional six bedrooms, which can sleep up to 12 wedding guests.

- GGemma and Adam04/05/2022Our day was better than we could have ever hoped!Our day was better than we could have ever hoped!We got married at Powderham Castle on Monday 13th December 2021. It was pushed back from Sunday 13th December 2020. All I can say is it was completely worth the wait. The best day of our lives, it was a day we will never forget, everything was perfect and we would do it all over again in a heartbeat. It is amazing how much a castle starts to feel like home after a few days of wedding preparation, it was privilege to be in some small way affiliated with such a stunning and historic building. Nothing was too much trouble for Hollie and her team, I have never known such a dedicated team of people, working such long days yet always manage to greet us with a smile and show a high level of professionalism and expertise. Our guests were blown away, yet it felt comfortable, homely and welcoming. Hollie managed to sort a Wedding cake out for us in 3 hours, after our initial supplier let us down, that is impressive by anyone's standards. We had full use of all the rooms in the castle and grounds for the whole day, there was so many places and areas to choose from, there really is something for everyone. We had the library for our ceremony, as even on a dull day the natural light in there is special. We held our wedding breakfast in the music room, with its blue decor, domed ceiling and views over the grounds, we hardly needed decorations. The roaring fire and wooden panelling of the state dining room, was where we had our evening reception and the band, yet there were many places for our guests to sit and talk. The extra special addition of a bridal suite, with 2 suites and a Livingroom, meant that the morning of the wedding with the whole bridal party was even more special than we ever could have wished. Siting having my make up done, overlooking the estate grounds, estuary and deer, was breath-taking. We were also lucky enough to get married in December during Christmas at the Castle, so if a Wedding in a castle was not special enough, there was the extra magic of Christmas thrown in, with stunning Christmas trees and the whole outside of the castle and grounds lit up, which they kept on for our guests to enjoy until late into the night. Powderham staff are so welcoming and so thoughtful it really that makes your wedding day sparkle, the staff do truly go above and beyond to make your wedding day that one of a kind and a customised to the way you want it! Ella was my amazing wing man, my wedding planner and friend! She was absolutely amazing, she was so helpful with the planning and having myself bombarding her with phone calls (always there to calm me down!) time and time again, she was so patient and she would really go out of her way to make all your dreams come true on your wedding day even right down to the small details her commitment to our wedding was absolutely outstanding . Powderham is truly an exquisite place, it has that little something more than any other venue.
