Pentney Abbey is a luxury wedding venue located in West Norfolk. The venue comprises of a beautiful barn, a stunning medieval gatehouse with original features, heartwarming cottage accommodation and glorious riverside views. Pentney Abbey is an award winning historic venue that offers everything.
Following your romantic ceremony, you can join your guests for welcome drinks and delicious canapes in the beautiful gardens, before leading to the main barn with its wooden floors, rustic stone walls and majestic high ceilings. This is the setting for your wedding breakfast and evening party, with its chic modern bar and ample space for dining and dancing.
Pentney Abbey gives you a wealth of options for enjoying the evening of your wedding with your loved ones. Our barn has large double doors leading out onto beautiful lawns with a patio full of outdoor seating and heaters for guests to relax and chat throughout the night. If you would like to escape and take a moment to capture some memorable photographs, there are a range of stunning photo opportunities in our private and idyllic gardens upon 12 acres of land.
When the time comes to rest your dancing feet, you’ll be glad of our cosy accommodation to relax and reflect on a perfect wedding day. At Pentney Abbey, we hope you’ll invite your closest friends and family to spend the night, with our pretty cottages, cosy farmhouse and lavish, newly renovated honeymoon suite sleeping up to 18 people in total. The venue is also home to a number of luxury bell tents in the Summer season (May-September), allowing up to an additional 22 guests to stay.

The blend of old and new creates a really good visual dynamic and guiding guests through these locations as the day progresses keeps it really fun and interesting. The venue has a really stylish feel but still creates a relaxed atmosphere. The coordinators are brill. Give me a shout if you want an unbiased recommendation of the venue. Our wedding planner Megan was incredible, calm, and made sure all the worry and arrangements worked and on time. The ceremony room was beautiful, and the food we had was fantastic. All the staff went out their way to ensure we had a stress free day, the caterers, bar staff , ancillary people, we couldn't fault a single thing.Had an incredible 2 night stay at Pentney Abbey for my daughters wedding. We fell in love with Pentney abbey back in 2022 when we secured our date for November 2024. We visited the venue a fair few times on the opening days and fell in love with it all even more - we knew this is where we wanted to get married. 6 months before the wedding, you’re assigned a wedding planner & I truly believe we hit the jackpot with ours. Katherine Twiggs, you are amazing. I genuinely would’ve been lost with you. Your calmness, support, reassurance, kind & genuine ways weren’t unnoticed and were very much appreciated throughout the build up to our wedding and on the day itself. Kath, you went above and beyond to make sure every single wish of ours was fulfilled, your attention to detail & care was appreciated more than you’ll know. The whole UNV team were amazing from start to finish. The day was absolutely faultless. Any stress or worries which either of us had were taken away by the team and we were made to feel so very special. The food was delicious, we received so many compliments. And the thought behind the staff of not interrupting us on the dance floor with the evening food but putting it in the honeymoon suite for us to enjoy later, along with some cake & bubbles was grateful appreciated. I cannot fault a single thing and they went over and above in so many ways. Nothing was too much, even when we had a mishap with the candle holders! They coordinated with our suppliers with ease and my husband and I are so grateful to you all ❤️ If you are considering a venue filled with character and charm, take my advice and have your wedding here! As the title read, UNV and their team will exceed all expectations. We went with Unique Norfolk Venues at Pentney Abbey after an extensive search for our vision. We wanted our big day to be more than just our wedding day, we wanted it to be a wedding experience! Above all, we wanted our wedding to be stress free (as possible) for my beautiful bride! We loved so many different venues around Norfolk, however, Pentney Abbey was in a league of its own. The stunning rustic setting with a grand, historic gatehouse and beautiful barn; from our first visit we knew that Pentney Abbey would be perfect for our rustic, autumnal wedding. Over the two year duration of planning our big day, we enjoyed a food tasting and drink tasting day with UNV and their catering team which helped us make an informed decision about our menu and drinks. We met with loads of excellent suppliers hand picked by UNV numerous occasions so we could listen and take onboard advice and choose our decor. And correspondence from UNV couldn’t have been any easier. Our planner, Aiyana, was there for us from day one when we were allocated a planner. We had plenty of meetings whether that was in person or over the phone or video call. Aiyana really made us feel at ease and in full control; she made sure everything that needed to be done was done! She listened to our vision and what we wanted, pointing us in the right direction and worked hard. Aiyana ran the UNV team on the big day and made the wedding a truly, breathtaking, once in a lifetime experience! And credit to all the UNV staff who made the day go smoothly. I do need to mention the price tag. Over our extensive search we very quickly came to understand how expensive weddings are. Pentney Abbey is no exception and when you look on paper, yes, it is costly. Although, having mentioned the price tag, was it worth it? Absolutely, it was worth every penny! To say money well spent is an understatement because I couldn’t not have asked for a better day for my beautiful bride! In terms of what you get from a venue, a wedding package, a planner and staff to run the day, UNV at Pentney Abbey really did cover everything and more! Furthermore, looking the price tag and it is very easy to see how UNV and the team do make your wedding as stress free as possible and help you every step of the way, making the whole experience enjoyable and manageable. I won’t go into detail about the decor or our vision as everyone will have their own vision for their wedding.
