The grounds are beautiful - expansive rolling green with willow trees, chickens, a stream, looking out onto a meadow behind, with lovely flowers and walled garden. It was a truely special spring venue. But more so we felt immediately welcomed by Alex and James’ warm and friendly family (and dogs!) and loved the relaxed atmosphere. Alex, James and the groundsmen were so helpful, they allowed us to create a fully bespoke wedding and went above and beyond on the day to make all the details of our vision come true for us. The Manor House was a perfect base for the weekend. We loved every minute. We fell in love with Newington house the first time we came to see it. Bridge & Groom were relaxed and happy and it was clear that they had been able to tailor the venue to suit their tastes and personalities. The venue is stunning, lots of different areas to make use of. It really is a blank canvas venue, we were able to choose our own suppliers and add all our own personal touches to make it completely bespoke and personal to us. Very friendly and relaxed, nothing was too much trouble. We always felt very welcome throughout the hire period. Highly recommend this venue if you want to create your own perfect day. Alex and James are both amazing and any idea you may have dreamed of will be possible. No cookie-cutter wedding venue here! While Newington house is their family home this was no obstacle and they were flexible on everything; suppliers, timings, set up, packing up and the use of the garden - I could go on. There was never the feeling of being rushed off the property to make way for the next wedding. We had full access to the garden for 4 days in total which is pretty rare from what we could see. The house, garden and river make the most amazing backdrop for photos and it is an idyllic venue for a fairytale wedding. The setting is beautiful, the staff and suppliers were first class and most importantly my daughter and son in law had the best day of their lives. Family from far and wide came to Newington. We were able to use the church, which was quite beautiful. We were then able walk through the garden to have wonderful lunch on the terrace. A perfect venue for both young and old, the little ones could run about on the lawns and the older generations watch from the terrace.
