Newington House

We fell in love with Newington house the first time we came to see it. The grounds are beautiful - expansive rolling green with willow trees, chickens, a stream, looking out onto a meadow behind, with lovely flowers and walled garden. It was a truely special spring venue. But more so we felt immediately welcomed by Alex and James’ warm and friendly family (and dogs!) and loved the relaxed atmosphere. Alex, James and the groundsmen were so helpful, they allowed us to create a fully bespoke wedding and went above and beyond on the day to make all the details of our vision come true for us. The Manor House was a perfect base for the weekend. We loved every minute.

A great location for My husbands 80 birthday and youngest grandchild’s christening. Family from far and wide came to Newington. We were able to use the church, which was quite beautiful. We were then able walk through the garden to have wonderful lunch on the terrace. A perfect venue for both young and old, the little ones could run about on the lawns and the older generations watch from the terrace.

Newington House is a fantastic wedding venue that ticks every box! Alex and James are both amazing and any idea you may have dreamed of will be possible. No cookie-cutter wedding venue here! While Newington house is their family home this was no obstacle and they were flexible on everything; suppliers, timings, set up, packing up and the use of the garden - I could go on. There was never the feeling of being rushed off the property to make way for the next wedding. We had full access to the garden for 4 days in total which is pretty rare from what we could see. The house, garden and river make the most amazing backdrop for photos and it is an idyllic venue for a fairytale wedding. Thank you Alex and James!

Newington House was a perfect location. Easy access for all our guests. A beautiful garden in which to stroll about. Our lunch was served in the dining room and was absolutely delicious and beautifully catered for. We couldn’t have been more pleased. Thank you, Alexandra.,

Amazing wedding venue. Bridge & Groom were relaxed and happy and it was clear that they had been able to tailor the venue to suit their tastes and personalities. The hosts made all guests feel truly welcome and we all had a fabulous time.

Our wedding at Newington House was everything we could have wished for and more. The venue is stunning, lots of different areas to make use of. It really is a blank canvas venue, we were able to choose our own suppliers and add all our own personal touches to make it completely bespoke and personal to us. Very friendly and relaxed, nothing was too much trouble. We always felt very welcome throughout the hire period. Highly recommend this venue if you want to create your own perfect day.

My daughter got married at Newington and we couldnt have asked for a more perfect venue. The setting is beautiful, the staff and suppliers were first class and most importantly my daughter and son in law had the best day of their lives. It all felt very homely and relaxed, which, as parents is what we wanted.

Newington House is the most perfect place for your special day. The backdrop of the magnificent house and grounds helped us to create our dream wedding in the countryside. The Manor house is idyllic and such a fantastic place to stay and base yourself over the period. We couldn't have had a more special wedding at Newington House and would thoroughly recommend.

We always had a very clear vision of what we wanted for our wedding day and after viewing so many venues that just weren’t quite right, when we finally set eyes on the beautiful Newington House we knew this was the spot. We love the Oxfordshire countryside so views were a must and we really wanted to get married in a church but didn’t want our guests to have to travel between venues so when Alex showed us Newington Church (which is literally next door), our faces lit up. Alex and James were incredible from start to finish and made the process of planning our dream day thoroughly enjoyable. Alex’s venue and her expertise allowed us to be creative and put together a day so personal and individual (you don’t get that sort of freedom at other venues) that we still continue to hear comments from our friends and family like ‘it was the best wedding ever!’ It really was the perfect day. Newington Church is rustic but homely, the house and grounds are stunning and the views are breathtaking. I honestly wish we could do the day all over again and would recommend the venue to anyone who wants a truly spectacular day.
