Michelham Priory is steeped in history dating back to Medieval times but with a fresh, modern approach to weddings which allows our couples to create a bespoke wedding day, or even weekend. Hidden amidst seven acres of beautiful grounds including a Physics Garden, Herb Garden, formal and informal lawns, fruit orchard plus wider grounds bursting with bio-diversity, Michelham Priory has a Medieval gatehouse for the most impressive of entrances, a historic house and jewel-in-the-crown, a stunning Elizabethan wedding barn with vaulted beamed ceiling and its own courtyard garden and private lawns. This is then the focal point for weddings although we encourage our couples and their guests to enjoy all the aspects of this unique wedding venue. We want your wedding to be absolutely unique to you and so we allow a wide choice of caterers and suppliers so that you can work to your own brief and budget. We can host intimate weddings in the House, seating wedding breakfasts of up to 130, and a stand capacity of 175 in the Elizabethan Barn, but can also accommodate much larger numbers should you wish to have a marquee in our Grounds. This works very well for weddings, such as Asian weddings, which require lots of different spaces for different aspects of the day. We allow our couples a three day hire too, so that you and your suppliers have plenty of time to set up. We can also accommodate sumptuous Autumn and Winter weddings. For couples looking for extra support, the experienced and super-creative Blue Door Weddings team at Michelham Priory offer a range of planning and management services to help you fulfil your wedding dreams. We really can make anything happen so if you'd like to be Creative Directors of your wedding day but don't have the time to make it happen, just let us know.

Michelham Priory has flexible pricing dependent on when you book. Prices range from £4500-£8000 dependent on the time of year and day of the week. Exclusive hire of the whole estate is possible by arrangement. Included in the venue hire are lots of beautiful additions including tables and chairs, fairy lights, toilets, parking, night security, pa system for speeches, choice of gardens and lawns for ceremonies, drinks receptions and photos, bar structure, all power requirements, catering kitchen, soft furnishings, external lighting including festoon lights and night security.
The hire period covers Friday to Sunday to allow for generous set up and clear down times.

It is such a beautiful venue between the extensive gardens and grounds and gorgeous historic barn. Even with our outside ceremony part rained out unexpectedly last minute, it was so easy to quickly adapt and instead have it inside of the barn, which still made for just as beautiful a setting. Michelham's wedding coordinator Bryony was also great to work with!We had such a wonderful wedding here!! It is such a beautiful venue between the extensive gardens and grounds and gorgeous historic barn.
