Not sure if you know, but we have just completed a £4m refurbishment of the hotel, you could be one of our first couples to use our brand new space!
From every aspect you are greeted with charming views over the grounds and surrounding countryside. In true manor house style there’s a courtyard and secluded garden, a spiral staircase leading down to the lawn and even a fountain. Inside is even more impressive, with high ceilings, stylish furnishings and a sweeping 18th century staircase. So whether your wedding day is sunny or showery, you can be sure of plenty of stunning backdrops for those all-important
wedding photos. It's offers that perfect combination between history and romance with it's 700 year old manor house and wonderfully modernized suites and spa facilities. It's quintessentially English and beautifully unique with stunning parklands and gardens giving you that perfect backdrop for your magical wedding.

- WWedding of Michelle and Rob14/05/2024Wedding of Michelle and Rob Wedding of Michelle and RobI got married here end of April - Hired the Dunklaw suite for the ceremony and meal I hired a venue dresser who dressed it lovely - everything went smoothly thanks to Danielle/Athena who planned the wedding to Edwina on the day and a big shout out to aziz who on the day went above and beyond to make sure everyone was happy. Lovely food Also used the spa which was lovely but can struggle for sun loungers especially at peak times. Flynn was our wedding planner, she answered every question promptly and gave us confidence at every interaction that everything was taken care of, she was amazing and went above and beyond to ensure the day was a success.. Edwena was the operations on the day, she had every role on the day from master of ceremonies to venue decorating, and we can’t thank her enough for her attention to detail.I can’t thank the hotel staff enough for making my wedding day run so smoothly. What a beautiful place this is, myself and my wife really enjoyed it and loved spending the afternoon pampering ourselves in the spa. Room was amazing with some we anniversary touches we got done including the swans and petals on the bed for us which was so romantic and also wrote happy anniversary on the big mirror with some love hearts around it which was lovely. We are already thinking about booking for next year's anniversarySurprised my wife for a we night here for our wedding anniversary. What a beautiful place this is, myself and my wife really enjoyed it and loved spending the afternoon pampering ourselves in the spa. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
We have such a vast variety of weddings it is far too difficult to narrow it down to just 1, we love seeing the different flairs that all of our couples brings and no wedding is alike.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Don't overthink it! and Trust your co-ordinator. I always tell my couples that they should go with their gut instinct. We want your wedding to be as beautiful as you do, so always ask for advice and relax as much as possible.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
I had a bride who's child had Autism and asked if there was somewhere she could set up a Tepee that would become his little safe zone. Ensuring everyone's comfort is key and that was truly beautiful to me.

The Rich history of the Dunkenhalgh Hotel.
The name ‘Dunkenhalgh’ comes from Roger de Dunkenhalgh who built the house, Dunkenhalgh first appears in recorded history in 1285!!
What part of your business are you most proud of?
We are proud of every area of our business we truly embrace the one team one dream philosophy, we celebrate our wins as a big family!
