Exclusively yours, Houchins is a unique barn venue with stylish grade 2* listed farmhouse accommodation. Located just 1 hour from London in north Essex it has a rich history dating back to the 17th century. Houchins caters for weddings and civil ceremonies from 25 - 150+ people, offering a choice of indoor grandeur, outdoor simplicity or a combination of the two. Highlights include indoor or outdoor ceremony areas depending on the weather. There is also the choice of indoor or outdoor bar with both overlooking the glorious wedding garden. Best of all both of you can change in comfort - either in the house or outside in our newly refurbished Dairy.

The team at Houchins were absolutely wonderful, from our very first viewing all the way through to our wedding day. The venue’s flexibility made it possible for us to celebrate over two incredible days: a lovely garden party in the beautiful house the day before, followed by our wedding in the main venue the next day. I still can’t get over how amazing and accommodating the entire team was, every detail was perfect thanks to them!The team at Houchins were absolutely wonderful, from our very first viewing all the way through to our wedding day. The venue’s flexibility made it possible for us to celebrate over two incredible days: a lovely garden party in the beautiful house the day before, followed by our wedding in the main venue the next day. Houchins was the best venue for our wedding! It completely fit our ethos as the perfect blend of modern and traditional. The beautiful gardens and landscaping meant that we hardly had to do anything with the decor to make it look like the venue of our dreams. We chose Houchins for a wedding venue within about 3 seconds of driving up to it. The flowers were in bloom across the gardens and everywhere you looked was kept beautifully, from the charm of the old farmhouse to the semi modern venue itself. We truly couldn’t have planned a more perfect day, Houchins were available to answer questions promptly and worked together with our other vendors seamlessly. On the day Rachel, our event manager was there but not and in the back ground any small detail was covered, planned and executed. We had the pleasure of staying in the house the bight before and in the Honeymoon suite the night of- the house and rooms were kept immaculately and each had there own quirks. They made for wonderful photos. The team provided a lovely breakfast and everything we could have asked for was there. Houchins was the perfect choice for us. We hired the venue Friday - Sunday and it changed everything. From having the house Friday to welcome our closest friends and family, getting ready the morning of the wedding, the reception setting and then a BBQ for everyone again on the Sunday was exactly what we wanted. The venue was perfect, a secret garden setting that could still hold our Scottish wedding charm with a ceilidh dance and English traditions, it was perfect in every way. The team were amazing, Wayne even put out our flowers to dress the venue again on the Sunday. I can’t rate this venue highly enough, it took our special day to the next level and I’m so glad we chose them. Thank you for everything. Houchins was the perfect choice for us. The staff were incredible at shaping our day. They even redressed the venue for our BBQ on Sunday. Having the whole venue Friday-Sunday was what made it. Friday preparations, a stunningly beautiful venue - perfect for what we wanted on Saturday & a BBQ for everyone on the Sunday really made our wedding celebration special. Everyone commented on how stunning & perfect the venue was, even for a ceilidh! We cannot thank & recommend Houchins more & we thank you for our once in a lifetime wedding!The staff were incredible at shaping our day. They even redressed the venue for our BBQ on Sunday.
