Every wedding is unique and special, so you might detect a hint of bias in our answer: our own! We got married at the local church and held our reception here at Homme in 2009. The best wedding ever!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
To make sure that you enjoy it. It is such a special period, so consider listing all the planning tasks out at the outset, and order them into different months, hopefully allowing you then to relax and make the most of each element of the planning without feeling overwhelmed.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
A very talented guest of the bride and groom sketched portraits of each and every guest at their wedding for the table place names. A very generous and herculean effort.

Where’s the best photo spot at Homme House?
That's a tough question - there are so many, with the best changing through the seasons, from the bluebells in the woods above the main lawn, to the glorious wisteria, borders, rose garden, parkland meadow grass, wild flower meadow in the walled garden and autumn colour on the apple espalier... the list goes on!
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at Homme House?
Mackenzie Crook was a guest at a wedding here. His next stop was the Caribbean for the filming of Pirates of the Caribbean.
What’s your favourite canapé?
Anything with scallops!
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Sparklers in front of the house to complete the celebrations.
What is Homme House most unique feature?
We have a beautiful 17th century gothic Summerhouse in our walled garden, licensed for civil ceremonies and a gorgeous spot for photographs.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
Our flexibility. We feel very strongly that couples should be able to realise their vision for their wedding day, and do our best to support them with no restrictive, preferred catering arrangements, no corkage charges, a flexible approach to the guest rooms available on the Estate (all in the gift of the bride and groom, with no obligation to use them) and as much support and help in the build up to and on the day as they need.
