With its sprawling lush scenery and gleaming lake it is a dream and the possibilities for capturing beautiful, unique images are endless. The castle itself provides a majestic backdrop for all your group shots and inside the warm tones and expansive rooms are a delight. The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful in all aspects of the event and the food was delicious. I cannot wait to shoot here again.I had the privilege of photographing a wedding at Hensol Castle in August. From first enquiry right up to the week before, we had a dedicated point of contact who were very helpful and always ready to answer any questions we had! We were given recommendations on suppliers after a few questions regarding our ideas/style we wanted for the day which was super helpful! Their regular wedding fayres also made the planning process so much smoother, as we could visit the venue on these days and catch up We had our wedding here 2 weeks ago and I cannot recommend them enough! From first enquiry right up to the week before, we had a dedicated point of contact who were very helpful and always ready to answer any questions we had! We were given recommendations on suppliers after a few questions regarding our ideas/style we wanted for the day which was super helpful! Their regular wedding fayres also made the planning process so much smoother, as we could visit the venue on these days and catch up

They have been amazing from the day that we booked the wedding right up to the day - I couldn’t have done it without our wedding coordinator. The team at Hensol on our wedding day were incredible, without them the day would not have been as perfect as it was. There was honestly nothing that was out of place. Each and every one of our guests said that it was one of, if not the best wedding they had ever been to and that would not have been possible without all of the staffs hard work and the attentive team. The staff on the day were checking up on my husband and I throughout the day - it really meant a lot and kept us calm. We had the most magical day and wish that we could do it all again. All of the staff, especially our wedding coordinator were so helpful and hard working to make our wedding so wonderful. We held our daughters wedding here 6th August, the venue, grounds and of course the hard working, discreet and professional staff turned our day into a truly amazing and memorable wedding celebration. The food was excellent and the rooms are beautiful should you wish to stay. Everyone was well looked after and I cannot thank the management and staff for all their help, they were supportive at the planning stage right through to the end of a magical wedding day.Absolutely stunning!! We held our daughters wedding here 6th August, the venue, grounds and of course the hard working, discreet and professional staff turned our day into a truly amazing and memorable wedding celebration. Judy was so accommodating and dealt with our multiple changes of mind and split discussions effortlessly. She felt with multiple quick fire emails and responded to each and every query. In the weeks leading up to the wedding Judy met with us to lock everything in... this is where me met Dewi the Assistant Manager. What can I say about Dewi. He is an absolute credit to the team at the Vale and Hensol. He took the worry and stress from us to manage the big day. Dewi met with us the day before the wedding to dress the castle. Nothing was too much trouble and he rolled his sleeves up and got stuck in to ensure that everything was prepped for the big day. On the day itself, Dewi checked everything so we didn’t have to. He accommodated all of our requests and had everything running like clock work. He dealt with things before they became issues and ensured that our day was special. We have so much love for Dewi. He delivered and made it a day to remember. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
We have enjoyed hosting each and every wedding at our castle. Each couple styles our venue completely differently so we particularly enjoy helping them decide on details of their special day and see photographs afterwards! At the moment we're really enjoying weddings which have the ceremony outside under our bandstand. Overlooking the lake, this area is beautiful for summer wedding ceremonies.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Decide on a budget in advance. To do this we advise couples decide on their 'non negotiables' which they absolutely need to have included in their wedding against things which are additional extra's if they can afford them closer to the wedding date.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
There are so many to choose from! Some that have stood out over the years are when children of the couple have made speeches, family dogs attending for photographs around the grounds and so many others! Recently one of couples had a private first look with one another before the ceremony and they also had their DJ play a song and counted from 1-50 with couples leaving the dancefloor for how many years they had been married, leaving the longest married couple on the dancefloor by the end of the song.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
There are so many to choose from but two of our favourites are outside the front of the castle and/or on our pontoon overlooking our 15-acre lake (perfect for golden hour shots).
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
Yes we have!
What’s your favourite canapé?
Mini smoked salmon blini, crème fraiche, dill and lemon
What is your venue's most unique feature?
You don't get more unique than a 17th century castle!
