Haweswater Hotel Full Description
We offer a two night minimum wedding here at The Haweswater that gives you exclusive use from 4pm the day before your big day until 11am the morning after allowing you and your guests to have a relaxed few days together and celebrate with you both. We work in partnership with critically acclaimed chef Mark Greenaway who you might have seen on The Great British Menu and Saturday Morning Kitchen. He was also the only chef newly awarded three rosettes in Scotland in 2012. We boast fantastic views over the Haweswater Reservoir and lay claim to the only building with these views as we are surrounded by RSPB reserves and SSSI sites which only adds to the peace and tranquility that you will experience here. If you are lucky the red squirrels may even join you for breakfast.

Breathtaking Views

Absolutely divine hotel, with beautiful vintage decadence throughout. The team at the hotel were fantastic, thoroughly accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable. In particular Zee and Mark who bent over backwards to help with everything from booking to walking and food recommendations. On that note, try the stottie cake if you go, its amazing as was all the food. The hotel has a backdrop of breathtaking views for as far as the eye could see. We stayed for two nights and walked the path around the lake which was incredible.

Brilliantly Fashioned

The location was absolutely stunning. The staff were warm and welcoming. The interior brilliantly fashioned in an authentic 1930s style . The room far exceeded our expectation clean, modern and trendy. Excellent breakfast service with a delicious breakfast.

Magical Location

Such a magical location... It's beautiful, tranquil, and simply (utterly) delightful. We found a 1930s theme which is carried off really successfully, wonderful rooms full of period design and decor, and a dining room with a menu to really savour. Am I waxing too lyrically? No. This really is a hidden treasure!

Countryside Paradise

We really enjoyed our stay. This 1930s Art Deco hotel is charmingly decorated in the style of the day with very attractive artwork. The food was very good and the staff professional and attentive. The position is beautiful in the depths of the country in the Lake District but local attractions are not too far away. A walkers’ paradise. We hope we can visit again. Attached is a photo of the view from our bedroom window.

Stunning location.

Lovely little hotel in a stunning location. Totally out the way, the silence instantly hits you as you step out of your car. The hotel has a art deco style to it which fits right in to the history of the hotel and makes it feel more unique. The food we had for our evening meal and breakfast was lovely but dining here is a bit more on the pricey side. Our room was lovely and the views from the balcony were gorgeous. Staff are all very friendly and attentive. I would definitely stay here again.

Ohhh What a day

Had our Wedding at The Haweswater Hotel. What a fantastic day. We had the whole hotel to ourselves and our friends from Friday night until Lunchtime on Sunday and it was a weekend none of us will ever forget. From the first call with Zee (who is amazing by the way) to the whole weekend we couldn't have asked for more. Took all the stress and worry away.

Garden and Views are Amazing

This hotel was absolutely incredible! We can't fault it at all and both made the comment, the only place we've stayed in that was better is the savoy! The garden and views are amazing! The hotel and my partner also managed to arrange a cake for my birthday, which I didn't expect but was absolutely delicious! The staff were faultless and so good with our toddler which was greatly appreciated. Our room was great and everything you could need being a small family. We were also kindly shown the self catering accommodation on our checkout and it is fantastic, everything you could need and very luxurious. We are already looking at returning.

Best kept secret in the Lake District

This is my favourite place in the Lake District. I've stayed in the hotel before, the rooms are very comfortable and beautifully decorated. The view across Haweswater is spectacular, so are the hotel gardens in summer. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced for the quality. The staff are so friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Since moving to Cumbria we now bring all our visitors here for lunch and it never disappoints. If you are lucky you might also spot Red Squirrels. The hotel has a relaxed and laid back atmosphere. It is an absolute must stay for fans of vintage style and the Art Deco period.

Magical

This amazing hotel has beautiful views, great hospitality and exceptional food. The restaurant definitely deserves a Michelin star, it was sensational. A great celebration of local produce. The surroundings of the hotel made the stay magical. Highly recommend and we can't stop talking about it.
