Hardwick Hall Hotel is a charming wedding venue in Durham, England. A former country seat of the squires of Sedgefield, this venue has a lively story to tell, with the original estate dating from 1183 and the manor from 1435. Hardwick has since been transformed into a sumptuously appointed hotel with outstanding facilities that can cater for weddings of varying sizes and styles.

We are delighted to unveil a brand-new offering for 2023 - The Lakeside Marquee. During the warmer months, the Lakeside Marquee is a truly unique offering to the north east, surrounded by breath-taking views of Hardwick Park and grounds. The Lakeside marquee, complete with fire pits, an intimate garden and twinkling lights provides a truly bespoke venue with the ability to add your own personal touches and create your perfect wedding day. This moldable venue has it’s own tailor made bar, perfect for arrival drinks as well as plenty of space for up to 160 of your most loved friends and family to enjoy exquisite dining and further celebrations until late in the evening.
Hardwick Hall is fully licensed for civil ceremonies, including the ability to provide an outdoor ceremony. You can choose to say your “I dos” at the romantic Tuscan alcove, set in a secluded area of the grounds boasting magnificent lakeside views.
If an outdoor ceremony isn’t quite for you, our Floral Chapel may be more suited. Combining romance with elegance and fabulous traditional features, including the ceiling-high fireplace adorned with flowers and exposed wooden beams, it creates the perfect backdrop for your enchanted wedding ceremony. Along with the beautiful Floral Chapel, which can accommodate up to 120 guests, this venue offers an extensive range of alternatives for your wedding breakfast and ceremonies.
