Hidden along a private drive, Friars Carse offers peace and tranquility within 45 acres of farm and woodland, and located beside the river Nith in the beautiful rural Dumfriesshire countryside. Friars Carse is the perfect setting for riverside ceremonies or inside using the oak-panelled lounge.

Thank you for the hard work which went into the day. The staff were incredible from the start of the day and were great with the kids too. The venue was stunning!!

Thoroughly enjoyed my day at Friars Carse Hotel. Beautiful, regal, traditional hotel. Set in amongst a Loch setting. It's so charming and unique! The recently refurbished pavilion has beautiful new flooring, it's such a great space with lots of light coming in! You can have your ceremony in the hotel, outside by the Loch... There are so many beautiful locations on site!

Staff were very pleasant and extremely helpful, food was tasty and well presented with plenty on offer, we had a great time there walked down to the river and along its bank, quiet, peaceful place to spend time, we will be back.

Dog friendly, lovely menu in restaurant, good choice of drinks and lovely location. Good value for money. We got married here in 2021, and the hotel were excellent around this time as the date had been moved 5 times due to covid, so we have a special place in our hearts for this hotel.
