Describe the best wedding that happened at Fishmore Hall?

Whilst all of our weddings are very individual, the wedding that sticks out in my mind the most was a wedding last year that was arranged in full by the groom to be held on the brides birthday - as a surprise! The groom took 3 of her dresses to a dressmaker to have a dress made in secret and he took care of all of the other details with guidance from the hotel.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Write a list of what is important to you that you want from your wedding day at the very beginning of the planning process. As you get more involved with the details you can start to get overwhelmed by other people trying to "help" by adding their thoughts into the mix. Just keep going back to your list. If it wasn't important to you to begin with its not worth getting worked up about later on.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

Most of our brides and grooms have brought something special with them to put their stamp on the day. From homemade favours, maybe a very rehearsed first dance to a special song, flowers on the table that were grown by parents to photos of each of their guests to indicate their seat at the table. Its hard to have a favourite when the special touches have such significance to the wedding party.
