- IIsabella Grace19/12/2023A wonderful and unique location for a wedding!A wonderful and unique location for a wedding!Last year I attended a festival themed wedding at the Fir Hill in Cornwall. I was fortunate to stay onsite …this was my first time Glamping, and I did not know what to to expect ! To give an overview of the venue, there is a large terrace, a courtyard and several other smaller terraces. The event focussed around the main building and the large terrace, a large part of which was covered by a marquee and a gazebo, although around half was open aired. This allowed us to dance in the sunshine, and in shelter if it was to rain! The main terrace overlooks beautiful views of the valley, and the wedding feels so private as it was private hire of the whole site. It was a joy to see the bride and groom so relaxed, as everything was sorted! They had food trucks and a bar - which were local businesses! I have been to a lot of weddings, but this one has stood out to me. Included in the wedding, was staying in a yurt! The site itself has a lovely terrace overlooking the reservoir where we had drinks and later the tables were laid for dinner with a band playing. Another marquee accommodated the disco which because of the location meant there were no noise restrictions, and we could party until the early hours. There were fire pits on the lower terrace which gave us another area to move to if we didn’t want to be near the music and there are also very comfortable sofas in the barn. The glamping part was huge fun with extremely comfortable beds and a showers and loos that had good water pressure and were cleaned regularly. The loveliest part was waking up and enjoying the stunning scenery and wandering down to the terrace to have a coffee with other guests to chat about the day before and just enjoy the views it offered. The whole site gives a feeling of space, beautiful views and excellent facilities and is able to host a large event without ever feeling we were crowded.
