Our wonderful 17th century barn is a fine example of rural architecture, together with a beautiful Queen Anne House and enchanting garden, allowing you to experience a true English country house style wedding.

Firstly may I congratulate you on your engagement and up and coming wedding! I have been in the wedding industry since 2016 and have had the pleasure of being part of hundreds of special wedding days across that time. I am always happy to offer advice on any areas you would like. I have a degree in Events Management and an MBA and use these to help make the planning of your day as stress free as possible. I can't wait to get planning and have some fun in the process!

- EEllie + Adam11/09/2025The best venue!The best venue!Elms Barn was the perfect venue for our wedding day and had everything we were looking for. The three day hire was a bonus, as we could get all our friends and family together on the Friday night and then have a relaxing morning after the wedding on Sunday. The accommodation meant we could have everyone onsite and there was no worries about travel in the morning. The barn was the perfect place for our ceremony. We also liked the fact we could have our meal and evening reception in the barn too, with the added bonus of the marquee for in-between with its own bar. The beautiful gardens allowed us to have so many lovely pictures outside and our guests commented on how stunning they were. We couldn’t have asked more from Ruth who answered all our emails so quickly and nothing was ever too much. She was the perfect coordinator on the day and ensured our day ran so smoothly. The staff were so friendly, which our guests also commented on. Teena also created the most beautiful flowers that looked incredible on the day. A huge reason for this is Ruth (the Wedding & Events Director at Elms Barn). She is so incredibly helpful, very quick to respond (day and night!) and was a delight every time - especially on the wedding day itself! Thank you Ruth! The venue is beautiful and we made use of the perfectly manicured rose gardens to have the ceremony on site and outside and we’re so pleased we did. It was like a dream on the day and the photos look incredible! Teena (the Florist at Elms Barn) did a wonderful job transforming an already beautiful venue into something spectacular. The bouquets, wall sconces, floor garden and the flower arch were beautiful, thank you! We had multiple guests tell us the food was the best they’ve tasted at a wedding, and we totally agree! Shel (the head chef at Elms Barn) was lovely, accommodating to changes and multiple dietary requirements, and outdid herself with the quality of the food all day! Outstanding! The day flowed so well, thanks to Ruth keeping us organised and being able to relax and enjoy the occasion. When the sun set after our golden hour photoshoot against the blossoming trees in the orchard, the party started in the barn and with approximately 150 guests the place was bouncing but not at all cramped! From start to finish the process has been smooth, professional, whilst still feeling personalised to us as a couple. Not only is the venue and grounds itself stunning, but everyone has been so friendly and accommodating to any request or question we have asked, which has made the experience on a whole SO enjoyable and not stressful. Ruth's communication and support is top-tier, especially on the big day - she made sure we didnt have to worry about a thing! The staff were also unbelievable on the day (we received so many lovely comments from guests!), and the food was 10/10, accommodating to all dietary requirements! Words will never be enough to summarise the most perfect experience we have had with Elms Barn. I couldn't recommend Elms Barn enough! The weather was on our side but the team at Elms Barn were the real heroes. Ruth and Sarah kept us on track with our planning and made sure everything went like clockwork on the day. The barn and the grounds are so well looked after - all of our guests were blown away with the venue. The catering and waiting staff were friendly and approachable. Our guests absolutely loved the wedding breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble for the team, they really made it a day we will never forget. Thank you to everyone at Elms Barn. Ruth has been wonderful during the lead up to the wedding so well organised and helpful even helping with our first dance song choices. The day itself was incredible Sarah was the ultimate professional running the day like a well oiled machine. So friendly and kind keeping us calm and ensuring we were well tended to all day. The day went off without a hitch and I didn't have to think about anything all day Sarah did everything and was completely amazing, George and the rest of the staff at the elms were also fantastic, they were friendly and professional from helping me with my dress to joining in on abit of dancing every single one of them were brilliant, the venue itself is beautiful the gardens are well kept and so beautiful every place on the grounds is classic and elegant. The flowers by Teena where beautiful better then I could have ever imagined it was the most amazing day. The lodge and cottages at the venue we stayed in were amazing clean and well supplied there was so much space and felt quite sound proof we had a few children staying and nobody could hear any night time tears from the tiny humans. All I can say is what an incredible venue, an incredible team and an incredible weekend we had. Thank you to every one of you at Elms Barn for making our wedding weekend so memorable. We also were quite a last minute wedding so it was extra stressful although Ruth made it seem far from stressful. All the in house team that sorted things out did exactly what they said theyd do. Everything was perfect and I wish I could do it all over again. On the wedding day itself Sarah made sure everything ran perfectly which it did but at the same time I didnt even notice her there which was great. All the staff were amazing and joined in my celebrations which was great fun. Couldnt fault anything at all! Beautiful location too! Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
All our weddings are completely different and wonderful in their own way, how could I possibly choose one!
I find it is the personal touches that you end up remembering. Things like a personalised neon sign with the couples name or hand made cookies as favours.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
To get your venue and date booked as soon as you can, so that you can enjoy the whole experience of finding all your other suppliers of choice with plenty of time.
Regular contact with your Wedding Planner.
Don't let something play on your mind because you think it is too small to bother your planner with. No question or worry is too small or silly this is your big day!
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
The Singing Waiters are a fabulous surprise, fun touch to any wedding - gets me every time!
I have also had a couple, both heavily tattooed, set up a temporary tattoo station a bit like a sweet cart and on it were personalised tattoos of the couples faces. Super fun touch and perfect for that couple.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
Our stunning rose garden and the bridge over the moat. The forest at sunset is also so pretty with the golden light, especially pretty in the autumn and winter.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
We certainly have! England's Rugby player Joe Launchbury's brother in law got married with us, Korey Smith who plays for Swansea City. We have also hosted Mark Thompson's, the TV Astronomer, wedding to his beautiful wife Karen.
What’s your favourite canapé?
Honey & Soy Glazed Pigs Cheek, Pickled Ginger or Param ham and Parmesan Palmieri (mainly because it is so fun to say)
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Our Mini Fish and Chips with Tartare Sauce washed down with a signature cocktail
