"QUITE SIMPLY ONE OF ENGLAND'S MOST ROMANTICALLY BEAUTIFUL AND ENCHANTING HOUSES" The Country & Town House Little Black Book of Wedding Venues Hamswell House is a historic manor house on its own estate. It has an orangery and picturesque walled gardens and is surrounded by stunning countryside. It is a private estate not a hotel or a corporate events venue and that is what makes it so different. When you hold your ceremony and wedding reception at Hamswell, you will have the exclusive use of the orangery and the grounds for the day and evening to share with your guests. You can hold the ceremony under the boughs of a 400-year-old lime tree in front of the house or outside the romantic 18th Century orangery with its Cotswold stone roof and huge arch windows. Following the service, you can join your guests for celebratory drinks on the terrace and enjoy the stunning rural views over the Hamswell Valley with the Westbury White Horse in the distance. The gardens and the backdrop of the house make the perfect setting for your wedding photographs. You and your guests are free to explore the walled gardens, pergola, C18 water garden with its waterlilies and Neptune fountain and the knot garden before moving to an elegant marquee for the evening celebration. We can accommodate up to 200 guests in a marquee for a seated dinner. What's more, you are free to bring your own wine and bubbly for the celebration. We do not charge corkage, which saves you a small fortune.
I cannot choose. There have been too many wonderful, happy celebrations. This place is just the perfect backdrop for the party of a lifetime
