Weddings are one of our specialties. We provide brilliant planning and organization, professional service and gorgeous reception venues with fine food. We don’t expect you to merely take our word for it, of course.
At Derby Mickleover Hotel we know your wedding is one of the most important days of your life – and we do everything we can to take care of you, right down to the smallest personal details.
At the heart of our service is a dedicated team of expert coordinators, who combine vast experience – we’ve spent years organizing all types and all sizes of reception – with great contacts and a passion to get everything right on the big day. They’ll take the strain of planning and organization, holding your hand from start to finish.
It helps to have a great venue. Or rather several great venues. The Derby Mickleover Hotel has a range of banqueting suites, that can host everything from an intimate celebration for two to a joyous gathering of 200. Add in our licence for civil ceremonies, and we can host your actual wedding as well as your reception.
Our superb kitchen is accustomed to providing top-notch banquets, buffets and canapés, while our spa offers professional make up and beauty treatments. Finally, our 99 rooms, including superior rooms and suites for the newlyweds to choose from, will let your guests drain every last drop of enjoyment from the big day.

Zoe, the event organiser, was so professional and gave lots of advice. The hotel rooms were lovely and the food was good. If you did not want room service to come and clean your room, you would get a voucher for the bar as part of helping the environment. The staff were so friendly. The wedding rooms for our wedding service and reception were spacious. Thank you Mickleover HotelI cannot express how happy I was with this hotel and the organisation leading up to my wedding day. Receptionist Emma was super helpful and sorted us out in no time. It is a beautiful wedding venue, the ceremony room looked stunning and the wedding breakfast food and service were beautiful. All staff were attentive and friendly and the wedding co-ordinator Zoe was present all day and night. Our room was lovely and quiet, the beds super comfortable and we slept very well. The event was extremely well organised by the event manager (Azra) and a few late changes to numbers were easily accommodated. The hotel set the room up and did a good job at laying out our decorations. Upon arrival we had a few photos before making our way upstairs to the Oasis Lounge for the drinks reception. We think that the reception area is very beautiful and is ideal for photos and confetti throwing. The food and wine was really good and well enjoyed by the guests. We got married at St Giles church and then came from there to Mickleover Court. As soon as we got there we were greeted with a glass of champagne in personalised champagne flutes which we got to keep which I thought was a lovely touch because it was a complete surprise! Moving on the the wedding breakfast, it was out of this world! All our guests were so impressed with the food, it was absolutely delicious and so well organised that we weren't sitting around for ages waiting for the next course! It went down very well! The evening reception was amazing! When we got down there after our meal everything was ready for us to start 'partying' straight away! And finally, we stayed at Mickleover Court that night and room we were in was ridiculously nice! It had a balcony and the whole room was massive with a bathroom with the most amazing bath! It was really a cherry on top of a perfect day! I have to give a big shout out to Azra as well who helped us through the whole process, she was so lovely and took all of our ideas on board and if we were ever worried about anything we could get in touch with her and she'd set our mind at ease! Our favourite personal touch seen at a wedding was the couple customising each guest's favour. The guests were really touched by the extra effort the couple had made, and it made their special day that much more memorable.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
The best photo spot in our venue is definitely the main atrium! The space is filled with natural light and there are many different angles to choose from. Plus, it's the perfect location for the classic "confetti shot" - so make sure to bring some along!
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
Yes but we're sworn to silence, shh!
What’s your favourite canapé?
Our favorite canapé would have to be spicy tempura prawns! They are always so flavorful and delicious. The combination of the lightly battered prawns with the spicy seasoning is hard to beat.
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Our favourite midnight treat is definitely bacon and sausage rolls! They are so delicious and they're perfect for when you want something a little indulgent late at night.
What is your venue's most unique feature?
Our venue's most unique feature is definitely our domed roof in the main reception! It's truly a sight to behold - it's a three-story structure that creates a breathtaking view.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
We are so proud of our amazing team here at Derby Mickleover! They are the heart and soul of our business, and their passion for helping couples create their dream weddings is truly inspiring. We feel so fortunate to have such an incredible team working with us, and we know that without them, we wouldn’t be able to provide the same level of service and satisfaction to our clients.
