We don’t expect you to merely take our word for it, of course. At Derby Mickleover Hotel we know your wedding is one of the most important days of your life – and we do everything we can to take care of you, right down to the smallest personal details. At the heart of our service is a dedicated team of expert coordinators, who combine vast experience – we’ve spent years organizing all types and all sizes of reception – with great contacts and a passion to get everything right on the big day. They’ll take the strain of planning and organization, holding your hand from start to finish. It helps to have a great venue. Or rather several great venues. The Derby Mickleover Hotel has a range of banqueting suites, that can host everything from an intimate celebration for two to a joyous gathering of 200. Add in our licence for civil ceremonies, and we can host your actual wedding as well as your reception. Our superb kitchen is accustomed to providing top-notch banquets, buffets and canapés, while our spa offers professional make up and beauty treatments. Finally, our 99 rooms, including superior rooms and suites for the newlyweds to choose from, will let your guests drain every last drop of enjoyment from the big day.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

Our favourite personal touch seen at a wedding was the couple customising each guest's favour. The guests were really touched by the extra effort the couple had made, and it made their special day that much more memorable.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?

The best photo spot in our venue is definitely the main atrium! The space is filled with natural light and there are many different angles to choose from. Plus, it's the perfect location for the classic "confetti shot" - so make sure to bring some along!

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?

Yes but we're sworn to silence, shh!

What’s your favourite canapé?

Our favorite canapé would have to be spicy tempura prawns! They are always so flavorful and delicious. The combination of the lightly battered prawns with the spicy seasoning is hard to beat.

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

Our favourite midnight treat is definitely bacon and sausage rolls! They are so delicious and they're perfect for when you want something a little indulgent late at night.

What is your venue's most unique feature?

Our venue's most unique feature is definitely our domed roof in the main reception! It's truly a sight to behold - it's a three-story structure that creates a breathtaking view.

What part of your business are you most proud of?

We are so proud of our amazing team here at Derby Mickleover! They are the heart and soul of our business, and their passion for helping couples create their dream weddings is truly inspiring. We feel so fortunate to have such an incredible team working with us, and we know that without them, we wouldn’t be able to provide the same level of service and satisfaction to our clients. We are immensely proud of our team and the work they do every day!
