Crathorne Hall, an oasis in the Yorkshire countryside, has amazing staff who remembered us from a visit 18 months earlier. Everyone was treated like royalty. The wedding meal was delicious, piping hot, beautifully presented, and outstanding for over 90 guests. The staff made the day and stay truly magical.Aurora, the wedding organiser, was incredible, ensuring every detail was perfect for my daughter and son-in-law. We got married at the hotel in December and it was Magical.The staff at the hotel really went out of their way to make our day so special.Our gorgeous little dog could attend the whole day too and the staff were so lovely with her. We have already booked to stay on our anniversary this year.Thanks to Aurora,our coordinator. I sent an enquiry email which they responded to on the same day, they sent over loads of helpful information and pricing for us to look at. Stacey was our wedding planner and she was just absolutely amazing, from the first email she went above and beyond to make sure our day went ahead on short notice and was exactly how we wanted it. Any questions we had she answered promptly, and she was helpful with making suggestions. The communication was first class, and I can’t put into words how friendly, attentive and reliable every single staff member was that was involved in the wedding. On the wedding day we were assigned a toastmaster, Alan, who essentially organised the full day, told us where we needed to be and when, and made sure everything went smoothly. Alan also announced us for the first time as a married couple, the cutting of the cake and first dance etc. Alan was fantastic he really made the day feel so relaxed, made us feel at ease and made sure everything went perfectly as planned. He was a lovely guy who we are thankful was part of our day, we received a number of comments from guests and family about how professional and helpful he was on the day. We stayed overnight after the wedding and again, the staff were just amazing in ensuring we had the perfect stay, they were so helpful and friendly. We booked the all inclusive package and every single need was met with open arms, a number of guests had food allergies and these were all catered to easily with no qualms, with many compliments to the chef from everyone. The rooms were fantastic, clean and spacious. The grounds were immaculate, impressive, and of course set in beautiful North Yorkshire so the views are unrivalled! We had such a fantastic day and it was all down to the smooth running of the hotel. Nothing was too much to ask, we felt like we were VIP’s from the moment we stepped through the door to pulling away for the first time as Mr and Mrs Aird through the beautiful woodlands and winding driveway. Not a single thing went wrong, every detail from favour cards to entire room décor was literal perfection! All staff from Ellie (who carried about 50 trips of luggage up and down the stairs like a machine) to Sam (the loveliest Bartender who made sure all the guests had a fantastic time and all the other fantastic servers, cleaners and employees. The venue dressing the night staff and all throughout the day managed to deliver was flawless, the whole day flowed beautifully without myself or Joe having to do anything but pinch ourselves the entire day! Matthew, our toastmaster made the day seem effortless and even helped the groomsmen put their flowers on which was so lovely of him! Every course of our wedding breakfast was heaven! Excellently cooked and packed full of flavour, the guest all commented on every course being outstanding, so our thanks again to the chef and kitchen. The Honeymoon suite itself blew us away once again with added extras and beautiful décor. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
Two gentlemen took the hotel for the full weekend. They were very much foodies and had quite specific requests, very particular for each day. They arrived the day before all of their guests to relax before the full weekend, then the Friday when all the guests arrived they had a buffet with items specific to the local area with a murder mystery theme in the hotel lounge, with their ceremony in the following afternoon and a Champagne afternoon tea with all their guests. They then all retired to their bedrooms to get ready for the dinner in the evening which was a seven course menu. They had given our chef free rein with 4 of the courses with specifics they had chosen for the other courses, finishing with an individual mini 3 tier wedding cake per person. There was also a band to lead them into the late evening. The following morning they all met for breakfast to talk about the day and night before, before departing the hotel in the afternoon. They were a delight to work with!
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
To make sure that you are organised with all of your wedding planning but to also remember to have fun at the same time. It should be an enjoyable experience! It is your special day and one which is completely focused on the two of you!
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
One of our Grooms was a professional musician and he played the bride and bridal party into the ceremony room by singing their favourite song and playing the acoustic guitar. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
The stone steps in our woodland area framed by stone griffins with the grand hall as the backdrop has got to be a favourite, especially in the spring time with the carpet of bluebells adding a burst of colour to the shot!
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
We have, but we are always very discrete with regards to all of our wedding couples, families and guests, everyone is made to feel like a celebrity for the day!
What’s your favourite canapé?
As we are situated in the North, our favourite canape has to be "Fish & Chips" with beef fat fried potato and smoked cod roe a twist on the traditional fish & chips. The perfect treat for weddings all year round!
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Our New Year's Eve weddings are not complete without Champagne and a bacon roll at midnight!
What is your venue's most unique feature?
Our exclusive use weddings have the grounds and gardens included which allow for fantastic photos on the front lawns with the backdrop of the hotel - it really does make for a stunning picture. The image of the hotel is iconic and highly recognisable.
