We had our original venue go into administration so booked this venue during the COVID pandemic.
After we booked the venue verbally, we subsequently chose to postpone our wedding due to the COVID restrictions & there was a mix up with the rooms. The wedding brochure online states that wedding guests would get first refusal on the available rooms, however there were no rooms available (not even the bridal suite) on our new date. We weren’t informed of this until one of our guests tried to book a room.
When I spoke to the wedding coordinator it seems that she had only booked us in for the day, not the evening (even though I specifically said we would want the evening on our original date if restrictions were lifted), and she stated that they wouldn’t have offered us first refusal on rooms inked we’d booked an evening do.
Her tone was so condescending that I actually had to ask her to stop talking to me as though I was an idiot! She had no empathy whatsoever and she seemed to spend the whole conversation trying to avoid taking any responsibility for the mix-up...according to her this happened because I changed the date (she had no appreciation of how difficult a decision that is in itself!), I didn’t book an evening do (even though I requested this if restrictions were lifted sufficiently) and I should’ve specifically requested accommodation (even though it says in their online brochure that the wedding party would get first refusal on rooms).
I was absolutely distraught by the time I came off the phone. Needless to say we’re now looking for a 3rd venue in as many months! (Our wedding hasn’t taken place at the time of writing this review, so I selected today’s date)
