Description
Bury Manor Barn offers a range of stunning spaces for couples to use as a backdrop to their special day. Couples who are exchanging their vows in the summer can make use of the amphitheatre, which provides spectacular views of the river and castle. The walled garden offers a remarkable setting for one-of-a-kind wedding photos, as well as a serene space for walks through the blossoming shade. The woodland area also provides a splendid choice for pictures. The barn itself offers a remarkable setting for receptions. It split into two rooms, to create a flawless flow throughout the events. The inner barn offers an elegant space for ceremonies, accommodating up to 120 people. Guests can then move into the outer barn, which can host up to 140 for banquets, before returning to the inner area for the dancing portion of the evening. This barn has a historical church within walking distance, offering easy access for those who wish to have a church wedding. Alternatively, humanist, civil ceremonies and celebrant-led ceremonies can also be conducted on-site.

Hello! We would love to welcome you to Bury Manor Barn. It is a unique and incredibly special place and we absolutely love to host weddings! We can offer church, civil or humanist ceremonies. We have very close links with the 12th century Church of St John the Evangelist which is next door to Bury Manor Barn and we have our own private gate from the church straight onto our terrace!

SO many people commented on how great it was, even our caterer is looking to have their wedding there. The team were superb and very responsive in the lead up, and we really appreciated having them around on the day to ensure everything went smoothly. The views were amazing, and all of our guests commented on how special the venue was!We had the most amazing day at Bury Manor Barn – the venue had stunning spaces for each part of the day, with a barn for the ceremony, a drinks terrace and secret gardens for our photos. The staff and the venue were able to accommodate our mixed heritage African and British caterers and there are many beautiful churches nearby to hold the wedding ceremony, we used St. Giles. The Barn is next to the stunning river Arun with a large garden space for a drinks reception. The team at Bury Manor Barn assisted in the planning where needed and were as flexible as reasonably possible. We couldn’t have asked for more. Bury Manor Barn over delivered in every way! A truly unique venue. Bury Manor Barn made the wedding of our dreams possible. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
Just to many to mention. My most special days were the ones after lockdown... it was so wonderful to have families and friends come together. Makes me cry now thinking about it!
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Move around flowers/lanterns/lights etc during the day so you get the best use of them... i.e. - ceremony table flowers move to top table, lanterns - move from ceremony room to the barn steps.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
Wellies full of flowers lining the aisle for the civil ceremony! This was for a groom who was a dairy farmer!

Romantic, peaceful, beautiful, one of a kind!
Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
A photographer told me once - there are no bad photo spots here! And he is right - from the terrace with views over the River Arun and South Downs, to our treelined avenue in the woods, to our beautiful walled garden.

What is your venue's most unique feature?
Our private gate from the 12th century church straight onto our stretch-tent terrace where we can be waiting for you with a glass of fizz after your church service. We have stunning views from the terrace - across the Wildbrooks and River Arun to Amberley Castle and the South Downs beyond.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
Bury Manor Barn is completely owned by Dorset House School. We are a charity based organisation with no shareholders! All the money that we earn from the weddings is pumped straight back into the 13th century Manor House, the 16th century Barn and extra facilities for the children at the school.
