Brinkburn’s Specialist Wedding Team believe that the most important ingredient of all, when crafting a genuinely unique and personal wedding event – is time.
Everything we are is because of what time has gifted us. Forests. Rivers. Weathered architecture. This season’s wildlife, birds, fruits and flowers.
In recognition of our belief in allowing the right amount of quality time and space to make magic, Brinkburn’s Specialist Wedding Team invests more of the right kind of time in setting the stage for your wedding – than any other venue.
Brinkburn Specialist, Limited Edition Weddings Explained
A Brinkburn Specialist Wedding is for between 22 to 52 people (80 in the evening). Ultra-bespoke, a wedding can include wild swimming, sunset yoga, forest walks, beach walks and a local whisky distillery visit.
Accommodation is on-site cottages for up to 22 people, then local partner venues. Food and specialist drinks are freshly prepared on-site by Michelin Star trained chef Tom Rookes (The Elder Tree). Indoor and outdoor spaces are visioned, planned and designed together. There is onsite parking for all.

A compact and intimate venue in the most beautiful location. The whole process was seamless from securing the booking to the final details before our big day. The staff were efficient and friendly - nothing was too much trouble. They maintained professionalism throughout the entire process. Jess took the stress out of the whole planning experience - sourcing suppliers, providing invaluable advice and reassurance and keeping everything on track. We never felt under pressure at any point in the process. On the Friday all the ladies gathered in The Stables (main accommodation) for drinks and nibbles - plenty of space for indoor entertaining. On the day of our wedding Jess and the team worked, almost inconspicuously, to ensure everything went to plan and without a hitch. We didn't worry about anything. On the Sunday we entertained approx 30 guests. The terrace was just perfect and the sun shone down - such an idyllic setting with stunning scenery. Brinkburn certainly met all of our expectations.From the moment we viewed the venue we knew it was the perfect setting for our wedding - needless to say we didn't look any further! The booking was straight forward and the communication through email was quick and professional. The multiple video call/ check in meetings during the planning process were a god send and this made planning experience less stressful, especially when my now husband and I, have very busy work schedules. The venue itself is situated in beautiful, peaceful Northumberland and it felt very private even though the public still had access to the Brinkburn Priory. The accommodation (The Stables and the cottage) was well equipped and immaculate. The hampers on arrival were a lovely touch! The outdoor space with a large table meant that the night before close family could chill outside and eat together and play garden games. The wedding day itself ran smoothly with the help of Jess, our wonderful wedding coordinator. As the bride, I did not stress in the morning as I knew Jess had everything organised. After the wedding, the team cleaning up were very friendly and professional. Our experience with Brinkburn was great from the very start. As I walked down the drive I just knew it was the perfect place for us. My partner only saw the outside and Priory and knew it was the right place! All other venues we went to after just didn't compare. We loved that you have the whole place to yourselves for the weekend. It's like a magical retreat. Jess and her team were amazing, the day ran like clockwork and nothing was too much of an ask. We wish we could do the whole weekend again!! If you are thinking about booking just book because Brinkburn is such a magical place and you won't regret it. My visit to Brinkburn was one of the first venues I had booked in to see. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
Where to start...to pick one would just be impossible!! The best weddings are always the ones where the venue is full of colour, the guests are full of laughter (& food) and the happy couple are full of smiles, and here at Brinkburn we would expect nothing less!
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Questions!! It is so important to ask questions throughout the planning process, so not only the day is 100% how you would like, but you also have a full understanding. At Brinkburn our wedding coordinators are always on hand for all questions, no matter how big or small.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
This has to be table numbers... I love it when a couple have table numbers/names that are personal to them. For example, Alice & Sam had their table names as different West End musicals the pair had featured in which was a fantastic, thoughtful idea!

Unforgettable, exclusive, atmospheric, personal, sensational.
Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
Do I have to pick just one?! The Priory is so grand it is hard not to be photogenic with that backdrop, the stables gardens are bustling with colour and the tipi has the enchanted fairy lights making all of your photos look magical!
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
A wedding planner never tells.....
What’s your favourite canapé?
A fellow fish lover I would have to go with the crispy king prawn with wasabi mayonnaise.
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
This is an obvious choice...it has to be a steal of the wedding cake!
What is your venue's most unique feature?
At Brinkburn we are lucky to have our 12th Century Priory Church and Manor House quite literally on our doorstep which is such a unique feature for a wedding venue to have!
What part of your business are you most proud of?
I love Brinkburn Northumberland, I am extremely proud of the team who started this as a small business which is slowly growing more and more by delivering exceptional weddings week in and week out. The team on the day are so passionate about ensuring each and every person is having a great time.
