Blencowe Hall

We absolutely loved our stay and wedding at Blencowe Hall! The hall had everything we needed and the grounds were the perfect setting for our wedding ceremony. Christine and Joanna were amazing from booking to the big day, always on hand if we needed anything. Our families loved the weekend in the castle and we’ll never forget our stay there.

We enjoyed a wonderful wedding weekend at Blencowe Hall - it was a perfect venue and the team that helped with the recommendations of suppliers and preparation could not have been more helpful. All the recommended suppliers that we used were fabulous - its certainly worth using the ones on the list supplied! We were lucky enough to be able to get married outside in the gardens, with a brass band present and a wonderful reception & wedding party for 50 people in the Byre. If anyone is looking for a perfect wedding venue - look no further. It couldn't have been better and will not only be memorable to us - but also to all our guests - who all loved it too - many saying it was the best wedding they had ever been to!

We had a great wedding weekend at Blencowe Hall and the three cottages on the grounds. From the start, communication and planning with Joanna and Christine was fantastic, they always responded to emails and gave so much information, it really helped with planning from afar. Our two visits to view the venue beforehand really settled our nerves and again, Joanne helped us along with hints and tips as well as supporting us with our own ideas. On the weekend of the wedding we arrived to a clean and tidy house, with everything we needed for all our friends and family. The kitchen is well stocked with enough things for hundreds of people, let only the 30 of us! We got married in the Solar Room upstairs, with all our guests seated comfortable and with enough space for me to walk down the aisle with my dad. We used an Amp for just which worked great in the room. We also then used the same room for the party after dinner, again, plenty of room for dancing and also chatting. The fire places were well used Sunday for toasted marshmallows and chats with friends. All the bedrooms are really comfy, all our guests said how great they slept and how comfy the mattresses were. All but 2 bedrooms are en suite but still have a private bathroom down the hall. This worked well for us as a group of 3 friends were able to share. We used the South Tower main bedroom, top floor, as our wedding suite. There was plenty of room for me and my bridesmaids in the morning, along with both mums and hair and makeup being done. There is also a separate dressing room were I was able to put my dress on in private. The balcony and windows gave for some stunning views! If we could do it all again, we would pick this venue over and over again! We really can't recommend it enough and are already planning when we can next get family together to book the main house again!

Blencowe Hall and surrounding cottages are a fantastic location for a wedding for about 50 people. As it is a self catered accommodation, your wedding can be exactly as you want, without any restrictions on which caterers/florists/hair dressers you use. You can get married in multiple locations, both inside and outside. The byre is perfect for the wedding breakfast and evening entertainment. Blencowe Hall's dining room and solor room are also brilliant for the wedding breakfast and evening entertainment for a smaller number of people. The Rowley Estate staff are lovely, kind and helpful. They respond very quickly to emails and phone calls and give fantastic advice and help. The house and cottages are beautiful accommodation, giving your wedding a lovely holiday feel for you and all your guests.

Perfect Location for our Wedding Left on Mar 5, 2018 for a stay in Feb 2018 We were fortunate enough to have our wedding at Blencowe Hall for a small, intimate ceremony over the course of a long weekend. The building is absolutely stunning, mixing modern amenities with the grandeur of a centuries old building, and the location is perfect on the doorstep of the lakes, you can see the rolling countryside for miles with snow capped mountains in the distance. Gillian was exceptionally helpful in organising our day and planning our ceremony, nothing was too much trouble for her. The catering for the wedding was fulfilled by Lynn Hilditch and was absolutely exceptional, the dining room would go completely quiet with each course served. The whole wedding party was in agreement that it was some of the best food they had ever eaten, especially the pork which had been cooking since 4 am! I couldn't recommend Lynn highly enough, she really helped make the weekend and was very personable to match. If you want a small intimate wedding which will really be a treat for everyone involved then Blencowe Hall is the perfect building, in the perfect location with the perfect service.

“Absolutely stunning!” Reviewed 7 January 2018 for a stay in December 2017 We got married at Blencowe Hall in December 2017; it was the most perfect venue we could have chosen. Originally we had been looking at a number of different venues, right up until we pulled up at Blencowe Hall for the first time and instantly fell in love with it. The sheer beauty and character of the place meant this was the place for us. The hall has been immaculately restored, bringing it up to modern standards without compromising on the historical character. It feels grand, yet cosy, and the views all around are incredible. We had the ceremony in the Solar Room, which for our 65 guests was about the right size. We then hired a tipi for the reception which was placed in the field behind the cottages, keeping everything close by. All of our wedding guests commented on how amazing the place was, and some are even thinking of booking it in the future for family gatherings! The team could not have been more accommodating and did all she could to make our week-long stay there as stress-free as possible. We also booked out the three cottages that make up the whole site, meaning all of our immediate family could stay on site. We can’t recommend this place highly enough and hope to be back one day!

More than enough wonderful rooms for all. Great kitchen facilities and well stocked with all essentials. Whether it was the ceremony itself in the main hall, the kitchen/dining area, the billiard room, the log fires and the great photo opportunities it was the location to stay as a guest for a three night large family wedding.

It was the perfect wedding location to have international guests as well as locals there. The team of Blencowe Hall have been so very helpful with every single details of our stay, we are truly grateful. It has been the BEST time for us, forever to be remembered. We certainly can recommend Blencowe Hall - do visit and stay, it's fabulous; for any kind of occasion.

The grounds, facilities and settings are all second to none, whilst the character of the building resembles that or the quintessential English stately Home. A perfect venue for family gatherings or even a wedding and surrounded by breathtaking countryside.
