In 2016, Blackwell Grange opened its doors as an exclusive-use wedding venue for your special day, sharing every wonder of the listed buildings and the land, from the characterful heritage to the tranquil Cotswold location, featuring contemporary, elegant interior design and exceptional attention to detail.
The 16th-century Thatch Barn is licensed for civil ceremonies, and its features include original oak beams, barn doors and a magnificent open fireplace. You can also tie the knot at the Arbor, a picturesque setting in the venue’s stunning gardens.
Dining and dancing take place in the contemporary Orchard Barn, bathed in light from its floor-to-ceiling windows and doors and featuring a stylish bar and helical staircase, impressive dining space and mezzanine ‘chill out’ area.
Food and drink at Blackwell Grange is not just a meal but an immersive experience you’ll share with your guests. For a standout main course, why not opt for sharing boards served as a family-style feast for all to dig in and enjoy? And for the evening, enjoy wood-fired pizzas made fresh before your guests or vibrant street food cooked outdoors. It's impossible to just pick one!
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
It is your day, don’t worry about trying to please everyone, and enjoy it - we are here to take the stress out of it and help you every step of the way. Take as many one on one moments with your other half as you can throughout the day as it’s such a whirlwind and you will remember those little intimate moments forever.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
There are so many personal touches on every wedding, which makes them all so special in their own right. However, if I had to choose one it would be Grandma’s brooch attached to the bouquet as the Bride’s “something old & borrowed”. It is such a lovely sentiment, especially if they are unable to be there on the day in person.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
This is a tough one as there are so many beautiful photo locations! Our favourite has to be either our Moon Gate or Arbour. The Arbour is beautiful for outdoor ceremonies but equally a great photo spot. The sun sets behind it over the stunning scenery and it also has festoon lighting which is great for some amazing evening shots! The Moon Gate also has the addition of the beautiful scenery behind it which is also great for sunset photos….we do love the Cotswold sunset!
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
Every couple is treated like a VIP here at Blackwell Grange, so in our eyes everybody is extra special to us!
What’s your favourite canapé?
This has to be the hardest of questions as we LOVE a canapé here at Blackwell. Our personal favourite has to be the Crispy Risotto Balls of Sundried Tomato and Mozzarella with Basil Pesto. It is an overall crowd pleaser! Suitable for your vegetarian guests but equally a surprising favourite amongst meat lovers too.
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
PIZZA! With our outdoor kitchen housing a beautiful pizza oven, wood-fired pizza is our hands-down favourite evening food! Who doesn’t love a slice of pizza! Drink in one hand, pizza in the other, throwing some shapes on the dancefloor… now that’s our kind of party!
What is your venue's most unique feature?
The sound system! Bespoke-made especially for our venue with over 360 speakers under one linen cloth in the ceiling and connected to inbuilt speakers throughout the venue (even in the toilets so no one will miss out one tunes!)
We also have so many unique photo opportunities, including a backdrop of the huge thatch roof, the beautiful Moon Gate which is framed with scented roses and a full-glass bar area with views for days!
