When you marry at Birdsall House, the venue is exclusively yours for the duration of your hire. From an intimate gathering to a full wedding weekend, every celebration can be shaped around your plans, your guests and your vision.
A Choice of Beautiful Ceremony Settings
Birdsall House offers a variety of licensed spaces for civil ceremonies, both inside the house and throughout the grounds. Couples can exchange vows in one of the elegant reception rooms, among the atmospheric ruins, on the Verandah or in The Little Temple overlooking the gardens. St Mary's Church is also located nearby for couples planning a church ceremony.
From Elegant Dining to Late-Night Celebrations
The magnificent Ballroom provides a beautiful setting for wedding breakfasts and celebrations, while the estate's grounds offer further possibilities for outdoor receptions and marquee weddings.
As day turns into evening, celebrations can continue in The Old Kitchens, a distinctive space beneath the house, complete with its own character and atmosphere for dancing and late-night celebrations. Birdsall also offers the flexibility to create celebrations across one, two or three days, allowing more time to enjoy the occasion with family and friends.
Make a Weekend of It
For two and three-day weddings, Birdsall House includes the Bridal Suite and five further en-suite bedrooms, allowing the couple and their closest guests to stay at the house. Breakfast is included, while extended wedding celebrations can also include a relaxed meal or brunch the following day.
For larger wedding parties, there is a range of accommodation nearby, including Langton Hall, which offers self-catering cottages for larger groups and can be booked exclusively.
A Wedding Designed Around You
Every wedding at Birdsall House is personal. Cara and Harriet work closely with couples throughout the planning process, offering support with suppliers, logistics and the details that bring each celebration together. Couples are free to choose many of their own suppliers, while catering is provided through Birdsall's preferred caterers and drinks are managed by the in-house bar team.
Birdsall House is more than a wedding venue, it is a private country home where couples can gather their favourite people and create a celebration entirely their own.

We loved our wedding photos being taken at the old temple, the 12th century ruins and the lake. Everything ran smoothly from start to finish, allowing us to relax and enjoy the day to the full. A beautiful venue with an excellent team that produced the best day, which we will remember forever!The beautiful surroundings of Birdsall House and St Mary's Church provided a wonderful and unique setting for our special day. Simply the best wedding day for our daughter.Our daughter got married last weekend at Birdsall House and it was the most perfect venue for a lovely happy country wedding. The house felt like a home, which it is, instead of a corporate venue which added to the relaxed feel of the wedding. Everything was absolutely fantastic! It’s a beautiful house set in private grounds and enough bedrooms to sleep immediate family. There is also a church onsite or multiple locations for a civil ceremony inside or outside in the stunning ruins - making it the perfect weekend wedding venue. We are so so pleased with our photos. It was a pleasure working with Becky (the wedding coordinator) and Lady Cara over the last 2 years making everything easy, coordinating with our suppliers and navigating the ever changing Covid rules. They were always quick to reply and had great suggestions of local suppliers. Nothing was too much for the Birdsall team - they even organised a last minute manicure for the day before the wedding when I was unexpectedly let down. Exceptional service!! On the morning of the wedding itself, nothing was too much trouble and Lady Cara and Becky were always one step ahead taking care of all the organisation. Our whole wedding planning process was stress free thanks to Birdsall, they were so helpful and supportive with everything. When it came to the big day they shined even brighter with how seamless the day flowed, the subtle finishing touches and how the Birdsall charm helped elevate the day. My husband and I highly recommend this venue. It has character, charm, does not feel heavily commercialised and is one of a kind. I can’t thank Stephanie and Cara enough for accommodating us and our family for the weekend and organizing the most amazing wedding we could ask for. The house is so special and beautiful due to being family owned and so much history, and we were delighted to be able to use the property grounds for different parts, such as the ruins for the ceremony, the terrace for reception drinks, the ballroom for dinner, and then the lawn for an evening marquee. The planning and organization was just seamless and made for a magical event. Thank you again!We chose Birdsall House for our venue for our wedding this summer in August. Firstly, it is a stunning venue, the house and grounds are so beautiful. The set up is very flexible and we had the option of having our ceremony either inside, outside in the old chapel ruins or the church on the grounds. A lot of stately home venues restrict you to a marquee outside so it was refreshing to be able to make the most of the amazing ball room in the house for our wedding breakfast. They really make you feel like it is your home for the weekend, and I can’t stress how much that enhanced our enjoyment of our wedding. The bridal suite and guest bedrooms are all beautifully decorated, spacious and have amazing views of the countryside. There is nothing prescriptive about how they want you to have your wedding at all and you can conjure up as many ideas as you like and they will be able to recommend a supplier to make it a reality. Their list of preferred suppliers is fantastic and they all work exceptionally well together making the build up to the day and the day itself completely free of stress so you can get on with enjoying yourself.
