Description
When you book Balinakill Country House for your wedding or civil ceremony you have exclusive use of the entire house in which to relax and enjoy your preparations in a leisurely manner. Balinakill is the perfect location for small intimate weddings, civil/partnership ceremonies and for larger celebrations with catering for up to 150 guests (marquee required for table seating over 50 guests).
Balinakill has recently been approved and licensed by Argyll & Bute Council to hold civil ceremonies. The ceremony can take place within the house or garden, or alternatively in Clachan Church, the oldest church in Argyll still used for public worship.
A marquee extends our function room for larger weddings and Clachan village offers a broad range of high quality local accommodation for additional guests.
We offer a Wedding Management Service and will be happy to discuss all your requirements, menus and special requests. We offer a choice of local caterers who all work from a separate catering kitchen at the back of the house. Whatever your ideas are, please feel free to contact us and we will do our utmost to help you create exactly what you have in mind for your special day.
We can arrange a variety of additional services such as bands, bag-pipers, florists, hairdressers, beauticians, photographers and children’s entertainment. Alternatively, you are welcome to make your own arrangements.

Balinakill is a wonderfully grand but homely victorian country house which is ideal for gatherings large and small. As we are not primarily a wedding venue we try to remain as flexible as possible so please feel free to come with your own ideas and we will do our best to accomodate them! You are welcome to visit Balinakill for a look round any time we do not have a booking.

I think despite all the pictures, we underestimated how much space we'd have. The two sitting rooms, two dining areas, big backyard sitting area and a bar made it great and very COVID safe. The place was beautiful and the staff super helpful/lovely to deal with. My new wife is already looking for excuses to come back!The wedding celebration we had at Balinakill was everything we hoped it would be! We stayed with a group of 20 people for four nights, which was perfect. Every couple had a room with a bathroom and could have space for themselves. Every room had such a character. The social area is so convenient, with the bar, beautiful dining area, huge living room, pool area, garden, hot tub, and more. There was a fireplace in many rooms. Ann, the owner, and her staff were extremely helpful, giving us tips about what to do in the area.The house is so beautiful with everything you need. We stayed with a group of 20 people for four nights, which was perfect. Every couple had a room with a bathroom and could have space for themselves. Every room had such a character. The house, the location, the gardens, the amenities, the deco, Ann & Uta (owner and house keeper). We rented it to celebrate my 50th birthday with a large group of friends, including a lot of kids (and dogs), and we had the best time. Every room is on suite and all the public rooms are amazing, including the kitchen (great for breakfast), the dining room (sits 20+ very well) and the two amazing sitting rooms. The hot tub was an added bonus this year, so relaxing to soak in after taking a good walk from the door either to the beach or the beautiful hills that fill the view beyond the garden.
