What is your most memorable wedding?
My most memorable special occasion that I arranged one of our helicopters for wasn't a wedding, but a 50th wedding anniversary. The couple brought with them a bag containing orange juice and prosecco. They insisted that EVERYONE involved in the flight have a glass of bucks fizz to help them celebrate their special day. The poor pilots had to wait until the end of the day, but the whole EBG team made sure to toast the couple that evening.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Professional Friendly Helpful Personal Calm.
What about your business are you most proud of?
Our team - Every member of our staff does their very best to keep our customer's happy and our helicopters running safely and smoothly. We even had a customer get stuck with a flat tyre and one of our technicians dashed up to the other end of the airfield to change it for them.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Decide on a plan and stick to it!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
One of our student pilots got married and used our helicopter as her theme. She even had a little balloon replica of G-WCKD made to celebrate the day.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Usually I'm contacted by 1 member of the couple, or a relative. They outline where they want to go to and from, and I'll work out the logistics, letting them know if there are any restrictions (flying after dark, passenger numbers) so that we can do our best to fit in with their plan for the day.
What is the most original entrance you have given to a wedding couple?
We arrive at the venue and whisk the Bride and Groom off for a sightseeing flight before the guests arrive, only bringing them back to the venue once everyone is there. It's a real thrill to surprise so many people.
What would be your No. 1 tip for arriving in style?
Fly in by helicopter!
