The Illustrated Invitation Full Description
The Illustrated Invitation offers unique illustrated stationery that will add a beautiful and completely personalised touch to your wedding day. You and your partner have fallen in love with your venue right? Can’t wait to show your guests where your special day will be? Our artist will produce a stunning sketch of your wedding venue (please check with us to see if we have sketched your venue already) and the image can then feature throughout your wedding stationery. There is complete flexibility for you to choose colours, typestyles, and wording. We also offer a personalisation service where we can include your guest’s names on the actual invitation in printed calligraphy style and also their names and address on the envelope making your stationery totally unique. We hope to ‘wow’ you and help wow your guests too! We are a small family business and passionate about what we do. This consists of Rachael, who makes sure things are running like clock-work, Jamie (who makes a good coffee) and two assistants, Lily and Faith, who are Rachael and Jamie’s daughters and earn their pocket money by giving a helping hand at the weekends. We have sketched many wedding venues in the UK from churches to cathedrals and castles to estate homes. We are even getting orders for venues in Europe now for Italian villas and French chateaus so word of mouth is getting out there. All the very best with your wedding planning, Rachel, Jamie, Lily and Faith xx

Personal Message from the Manager

Name of Wedding Contact: Rachael
Hello and thank you so much for stopping by to look at our profile and work, I will be the person who you will chat with and look after your order from start to finish. I won’t say too much as hopefully our illustrations speak for themselves – and if you have found a wonderful venue there really is no better to way to tease your guests than to send them one of our invitations showing it off to it’s best. Good luck with all your wedding planning. Enjoy every minute of it! Take care, Rach xx

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

There have been many beautiful weddings, but the most memorable is probably still to happen for one of our lovely couples who have already had to delay their day two or three times because of covid. So when it happens, it will be the BEST DAY EVER!

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Unique, illustrated, classic, elegant, personalised.

What about your business are you most proud of?

That we started it from nothing a few years ago. I took the decision to leave corporate life and a well-paid job to do something I love. It was so daunting at the time but I have never looked back and never been happier. We feel that we have evolved our work into a high quality, original product which still has a very personal and bespoke feel. We are a small family business, and we hope that one day this could provide a career for our daughters as one is very artistic and the other is very business minded (always looking to renegotiate her pocket-money!).

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Probably to be themselves and do exactly what they want, and if we can sneak in a second; it’s never too early to start planning!

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

I think it was probably from a couple who already had young children, so they decided that instead of sending the invites from themselves it came from their Mini-me’s! It must have made them feel extra special and feel a real part of mum and dad’s special day.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

It’s a very collaborative process, mostly online and at your convenience. We start by collecting all the information about your day so that we can create a first proof for you, and we will make as many changes as necessary to get the final version perfect for you (no hidden extra charges just a passion to get it just right for you). Some couples have very clear ideas from the start and know exactly what they want. Others come to us with minimal information and feel a bit daunted about where to start. If that’s the case we have plenty of ideas and examples to guide you, so don’t worry! We have also worked hard to make our website a great source of information for everything you need to know.

What is the most important piece of stationery for a wedding and why?

I would say the Invitation Suite (invitation, information card and rsvp card) because it’s the big announcement and sets the tone for the big day. An illustrated invitation is a fantastic way to show the guests the venue you have fallen in love with and maybe you want it personalised with their names to show that attention to detail. The Information Card shows you have thought of any queries they might have and help their planning and while it is perfectly acceptable to have your RSVP’s by text/call, the RSVP Card is a traditional custom which we quite like even with modern weddings.

What is your best seller?

That’s our Guest Comments Frames. We take your guests messages and we either scan them or re-type them (choice is yours) and then create a stunning piece of framed artwork. It has become so popular we created a separate brand and website for it. Take a look and let us know what you think!

What is the most innovative delivery method you have come across?

We produced the entire range of stationery from start to finish for a really lovely couple of grooms in Glasgow. They really wanted the wow factor, so all their invitations were sent in boxes with their names embossed in gold on the front, with the invitations all wrapped in black tissue inside – stunning! Due to the logistics we also wrapped each box and posted them all out to their guests for them too. The feedback from guests was amazing.

How do you add romance to any wedding stationery you do?

Well, what could be more romantic than words? We will help you create the atmosphere you want by helping you set the scene for your wedding and we have a range of suggested wording to give you ideas on the way you want to go, whether it is very classic and traditional or something a little more modern and quirky. Let us help you tell everyone exactly how you feel!
