Polkadot Stationery Full Description
Founded by designer Beccy Owen in 2012, Polkadot Stationery is a luxury wedding stationers creating exquisite, hand-illustrated stationery. Inspired by nature, her designs incorporate hand-drawn florals and botanical-inspired finishing touches, inviting your guests to a party they can’t refuse. Polkadot Stationery’s work has featured in Wedding Magazine and Beccy has even had the opportunity of creating a bespoke, letterpress design for a well-known Channel 4 personality. All of Polkadot Stationery’s beautiful collections can be tailored to your own tastes to make sure you get exactly what you want. All of the ranges are personalised with your own names and details plus illustrations can be adapted to match your colour scheme. Wording can also be tweaked to make it more personal to you, but we can help you with this bit if you need us to! We also have a wide range of luxury papers to choose from as well as beautifully coloured envelopes, bespoke wax seals and gorgeous envelope liners. Foil-blocking in colours such as rose gold, matt silver or bronze is also available to create a striking look and we can also die-cut some of our designs to create a delicate cut, lace-like effect. We also offer a bespoke design service if you’d like a design creating from scratch, just get in touch and we can discuss what you’d like. As well as save the date cards and invitations sets (which could include anything from your invite, rsvp card and return envelope to an information card, a venue map with a bespoke illustration of your venue to additional miniature notes for guests), we also offer on-the-day stationery items. These include order of service booklets, seating plans, welcome signs, table numbers/names and place names as well as other, more off the wall items, such as flags, paper bunting and stickers. Anything is possible!

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

My sister's!

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Botanical, illustrated, floral, beautiful and modern!

What about your business are you most proud of?

I was very proud to be asked by Wedding Magazine to design a bespoke range for an upcoming feature they were doing. I designed the whole range which was then professionally photographed, along with a whole host of other products from talented suppliers, and used in the next issue!

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Always order a few more invites than you actually need, you never know who you might have forgotten! And ALWAYS get extra envelopes too!

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

I love calligraphy, so hand-written place names always look super cute!

Describe your typical process with a couple.

If a couple would like a bespoke design, I can offer a consultation either in person, over email or on the phone. Most couples have seen a range I have already designed and know that's the one for them - they then get in touch and I tweak the design to make it personal to them. This could include anything from changing the type of paper it's printed onto, to the colour scheme or the physical size of the invite for example. I always provide a PDF proof of designs before the go to print, so you'll always be able to double-check spellings, details and addresses etc. Once sent to print it usually takes about a week to 10 days for a couple to receive their order.

What is the most important piece of stationery for a wedding and why?

I think the save the date card and invite are really important - they set the tone for the wedding and get your guests excited about what's to come!

What is your best seller?

'The Modern Type' is extremely popular. It's a simple, type-based design in a beautifully textured font. My other best-seller is 'Rustic Florals' which is more illustrative-based.

What is the most innovative delivery method you have come across?

I love letterpress printing because it looks so exquisite and beautiful. I printed my sister's save the date cards onto magnetic card so that guests could stick them straight onto the fridge when they received them!

How do you add romance to any wedding stationery you do?

I love the hand-drawn look and this is a style I want to develop more. I think anything hand-drawn with a slight imperfect look works great.
