What is your most memorable wedding?
My first bride-to-be’s order was the one that sparked my love of wedding stationery. It was a tricky order and I had serious imposter syndrome, just hoping that she loved it.
The response I got was better than ever expected and since then my work is so highly thought of, very proud.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Personal, bespoke, relatable, rustic and affordable
What about your business are you most proud of?
The fact it started from nothing at all. Just a little bit of lockdown boredom and some pencils is all it took to have a complete career change (I was a dog groomer!)
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Get all your stationery sorted early. You want to get it out in good time and your stationery reflects you, your groom and how fabulous your day will be. It is the start of your wedding and when you get that big box of stationery in your hands, it all starts to feel super real!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Any wedding that incorporates the couples loves, hobbies and personalities… that’s always a winner for me.
Whether it’s a portrait of them, a pheasant feather in the bouquet or their dog turning up, it doesn’t matter - if it’s personal, it just makes sense.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Firstly I like to know your wxpections and what you “see” your stationery looking like. I’m very much used to people chucking random Pinterest ideas at me, I can work with that.
Then I need photos of your bespoke aspect- ie a couple photo of you want a portrait or photos of your vintage tractor, your dogs, your horse, your bouquet. Whatever it is, I need photos!!
Then I can start illustrating!
Once that is done and you’re happy with the layout, I need EDITED wording. This will be copied over and I will sort out the fonts, sizing, spacing etc (certain fonts can be requested).
After that, I will send you a proof to approve. If there are no alterations to design, your package will on its way swiftly to you via FREE first class postage.
What is the most important piece of stationery for a wedding and why?
Invites. Basically you can’t have a wedding without inviting people.
There’s no harm in a decent digital invite, but physical is best. People like to hold an invite and also it prompts them into replying if all they have to do is tick a few boxes and return the RSVP in the post. Emails get lost.
What is your best seller?
Bespoke Invitations by far. Couples want to see a piece of them on the page… it won’t be anyone else’s after all!
What is the most innovative delivery method you have come across?
I use first class postage with Royal Mail. It gets there fast and I don’t charge my clients for it.
How do you add romance to any wedding stationery you do?
Romance comes in the bucket loads with my stationery, so there’s no real need to add it. I think the bespoke element is the most romantic part, just add a swirly font and it’s nailed!
