What about your business are you most proud of?
I am incredibly proud of how I've grown Finn & Wild from scratch into a thriving business. Starting with just a passion for design and a dream, I've worked tirelessly to build a brand that resonates with couples and creates beautiful, bespoke wedding stationery. Each year, I have the privilege of working on hundreds of weddings, helping couples bring their unique visions to life. This journey has been both challenging and rewarding, and my dedication to quality and creativity has paid off in more ways than I could have imagined. A highlight of my career has been winning the Essex Wedding Awards, which is a testament to the hard work and passion I pour into every piece of stationery I create. This recognition, along with the trust and happiness of my clients, is what I am most proud of in my business.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I have two, one of my favourite personal touches I've seen at a wedding was a couple who named each of their tables after their beloved pets, complete with adorable illustrations of each animal. It was such a unique and heartfelt way to include their furry family members in their special day. Another memorable touch is when couples included little mementos to honour family members who had passed away. One beautiful example was a couple who incorporated a small silhouette of a swallow within their invitation design, a meaningful tribute that added a touching layer of sentimentality to their stationery. These personal touches make each wedding truly special and memorable, reflecting the couple's unique story and the people they hold dear.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
My typical process with a customer begins with a friendly consultation where we discuss their vision, theme, and specific needs for their wedding stationery. This initial meeting helps me understand their style and preferences. Once we've settled on a design direction, I create detailed proofs and offer unlimited amendments to ensure every detail is perfect.
Throughout the process, I maintain open communication, providing updates and seeking feedback to make sure the stationery aligns with their expectations. For a personal touch, I offer two complimentary day invitations for their photographer to include in 'details photos' and the other as a keepsake. Once the design is finalised, I carefully produce and assemble each piece, paying close attention to quality and craftsmanship. Finally, I deliver the finished stationery, ready to add a beautiful and personal touch to their wedding day. This process is designed to be stress-free and enjoyable, ensuring each couple feels supported and thrilled with their wedding stationery.
What is the most important piece of stationery for a wedding and why?
It's hard to pinpoint just one piece of wedding stationery as the most important because each serves a unique and vital purpose in making the day run smoothly. Invitations are crucial as they inform guests of when and where the wedding will take place, setting the tone and giving a first glimpse into the style and theme of the day. Table plans and place cards play an essential role in guiding guests to their seats, ensuring that everyone knows where they need to be and helping to streamline the flow of the event. Additionally, items like order of service booklets and menu cards provide guests with important details about the day's schedule and the meal they'll enjoy, adding to their overall experience. Each piece of stationery contributes to a well-organised, beautiful wedding day, keeping guests informed and enhancing the celebration.
