What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Have your budget worked out before talking to the stationery designer. This will save a lot of time during your initial discussion and will allow the designer to suggest what is possible within that budget. Allow an additional 10% extra invitations, for last minute guests or if you make any mistakes whilst writing out the invitations.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
How does a couple make their wedding a little bit different from others, to be talked about long after it is over? Well, in order to achieve this, a couple needs to let their individuality and identity shine forth. And a monogram is a great and affordable way to do just this! Monograms have become increasingly popular; they personalise and give that extra touch of individuality and class to wedding stationery that is completely unique to the couple.
For Asian and multicultural weddings, we have designed monograms in many imaginative ways, such as incorporating special touches in keeping with the couple’s cultural heritage. We have included a monogram in the ceremony booklet, and put it in strategic places in the mandap, as well as the invitation itself, of course. Talk about making an impression!
As soon as the couple has become engaged, they should have a monogram designed. Starting with the save the date card, the monogram will set the tone of the wedding. While the colour scheme can change through the suite of wedding stationery, the monogram can be imaginatively interwoven, giving continuity and harmony to the various items of stationery.
Monograms are a work of art when embellished with crystals which add that special exotic sparkle and shimmer. It is no wonder that such gorgeous invitations often become a keepsake – a wonderful souvenir to look back on with pride….and show future generations!
Apart from weddings, a monogram can be adapted for various uses such as personal stationery, towels, and even Christmas baubles and almost anything one can think of!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
The process consists of 5 stages:
Stage 1 is to establish the criteria of the project. This stage involves understanding their design requirements and determining timelines and fees involved.
Stage 2 is the exploration of the design possibilities. At this step, we will explore the design possibilities for the wedding stationery, and present the first round.
Stage 3 is refining the design. Once the couple confirms which design direction they want to go with from stage 2, we will continue to edit the invitation and stationery with the design and text edits.
Stage 4 is the production of the invitation stationery. As stage 3 is completed, our designs become tangible! Print co-ordination with printers begins after sending the couple a production estimate and getting it approved by them. Proofs can be made for their approval before the final quantity is printed.
Finally, stage 5 is delivery of the deliverables. The entire package is delivered to the couple, and they are ready to enjoy their wedding invitations and stationery!
What is the most important piece of stationery for a wedding and why?
The wedding invitation as it sets the tone for the wedding as well as the rest of the stationery.
