What is your most memorable wedding?
my own, of course :-)
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Hand-forged, Unique, Organic, Historic , Considered
What about your business are you most proud of?
Many things, but all the lovely couples who come back to say thank you, and tag us into their wedding pics on instagram is a joy for sure.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Don't let the wedding machine, and the wants and needs of family and friends take over, it's your day, and your wedding, it's so important not to get swept up with keeping other people happy, be true to your own vision.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
A favourite song of a guest who was unfortunately too poorly to attend, was played and the dance floor was filled, everybody danced for them as they watched on facetime, it was so heartwarming.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Couples book an appointment to come to the boutique, we sit down on the comfy sofas in the meeting area, get a glass of fizz and all the ring trays out. We discuss ideas, and styles and I go through all the option. Sometimes we're designing a wedding band to fit an engagement ring, othertimes it's the engagement ring and wedding bands together.
It's important to take time, to get to know a couples vibe, there's lots to chat through, fine metal choices, gemstones sometimes too, if they'd like a salt and pepper diamond that's always fun as I there are so many to look through and they're all so unique. I offer online consultations too, they work really well, something that was certainly less common 2 or 3 years ago, but now you can access our expertise from the comfort of wherever you are in the world!
What are your favourite wedding traditions for rings?
Oh I do love an interlocking set, I make a few of these, there's just something really pleasing about two rings that can look 'as one' when worn together. It's a bit of a magic trick.
What is the most romantic engraving you have seen on a wedding ring?
One that springs to mind is the exact coordinates for where the couple first met. We see many lovely engravings though, people are so wonderful, even just a name, I always think is so special in an engraving, to wear a name directly against your skin, it's powerful.
Which ring do you think holds most significance for a bride?
It's so down to taste, and that's the beauty of it. Some people love a traditional engagement and wedding ring set, some people, myself included only ever where one ring, it's a engagement ring/wedding ring hybrid, it's all about what holds the most significance to you, it's very personal.
What is your favourite proposal story?
Oh we've had some great ones this year, a lot of them in nature, up mountains, deep in forrests, we've had a few in store too, which is always a joy, The proposer, usually walks past our boutique (of course they've emailed us in advance and booked an appointment, so we're in the know) then they suggests 'this place looks cute, lets nip in' and before you know it he/she is down one one knee, and we're at the ready with the champagne!
