Rare Thing is an independent jewellery studio in Brighton, founded in 2022 by jeweller Nattie, creating bespoke engagement and wedding rings with heart, intention, and craftsmanship at their core. All pieces are designed and handmade in-house using recycled gold and silver, ethically sourced gemstones, and traditional bench techniques. With the workshop based inside the shop, couples are invited into the making process from the very first sketch to the finished heirloom.
Specialising in one-of-a-kind engagement rings and wedding bands, Rare Thing works closely with each couple to create meaningful, personal pieces that reflect their story. Whether you’re starting with a clear vision or just a feeling, you’ll be guided through every step in a relaxed, supportive environment.
Alongside bespoke jewellery, Rare Thing also offers hands-on wedding ring workshops for couples who’d like to make their own rings together. Every piece is made with care, integrity, and a deep respect for materials, people, and process — creating jewellery designed to be worn, loved, and passed on.

How does the bespoke jewellery process work?
Every bespoke piece starts with a relaxed consultation where we chat through your ideas, inspirations, and budget. From there, I’ll create initial sketches and stone options before we move into making. All work is done in-house, and you’ll be kept updated throughout, so you can see your ring come to life step by step.
How long does it take to make a bespoke ring?
Most bespoke engagement and wedding rings take around 6–8 weeks from design approval to completion. If you’re working to a specific date, just let me know and I’ll always do my best to accommodate where possible.
Do you work to a budget?
Yes, absolutely. I’m always happy to work within your budget and will guide you through the best options for stones, metals, and design to create something beautiful and meaningful at a comfortable price point.
Can we make our own wedding rings?
Yes! I offer hands-on wedding ring workshops where you can make your own rings together under my guidance. It’s a really special experience and a lovely way to add even more meaning to your rings.
What if we don’t know exactly what we want?
That’s completely normal and very common! Many couples come in with just a feeling or a rough idea. I’ll guide you through the process and help you discover a design that feels right for you.
