What is your most memorable wedding?
Designing and making a set of very sentimental wedding rings for a customer. The female ring was made as an 18ct white gold band with a inlay of inherited reformed 22ct yellow gold. The male ring featured a mix of new and sentimental gold from the same inherited family ring.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Vintage with a modern twist.
What about your business are you most proud of?
Ethics and sentiment play a large role in my business. I source all products locally, where possible use Fairtrade or recycled metals and source gemstones responsibly. I like my work to tell a story and have meaning.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
When it comes to organising your wedding rings don't leave it too late to get in touch if you are thinking of having bespoke rings made. One off designs usually take 6-8 weeks to make from design approval and designs can take anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks to get right.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
A customer once ordered a bespoke necklace to match the wedding ring I made for his bride as a surprise on the day. The necklace was made with an interchangeable chain and string of pearls so it could be worn on the day and after as an everyday necklace.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Once initial contact has been made I will discuss design ideas, styles, metal type, stone colours and finger size. If this isn't known I will have a meeting via telephone, skype or email and narrow the specifications down. Once I have all the details I will draw up a rough estimate. If this price is acceptable I will then move on to the design stage, followed by approval and making.
What are your favourite wedding traditions for rings?
I love to make interlocking rings and pieces with hidden messages or a story to tell.
