Born in industrious Birmingham, Martyn cannot remember a time when he was not designing or making. His design process still draws on this early love for problem-solving, and his silverware combines a striking aesthetic with exceptional functionality. The subtle curves and strong, confident forms of his award-winning designs are underpinned by his control, attention to detail and mastery over material. In Martyn’s jewellery the emotional link between wearer and piece defines both form and materials.
Whilst working in Gold, Silver, Platinum, Diamonds, Pearls and coloured stones, Martyn has recently pioneered the use of Palladium. Whatever the project, Martyn’s experience, his skills at the bench and his innate inquisitiveness combine to produce dynamic and flamboyant designs.
His work includes the largest dinner service in recent times and work that can be found in 10 Downing Street, Goldsmith’s Hall, Livery Companies, corporations and educational institutions and the Victoria & Albert Museum.
