What is your most memorable wedding?
It has to be my friends Liam and Rachel Forbes who were married in Corbridge Church and partied at the Cricket Club. I was the only person to know about the planned proposal as I made her engagement ring and later made their wedding rings. In fact Liam knocked on my door to collect the rings on the his way to the church before the ceremony! We all partied until 4am and the Bride and Groom both made it that late too.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Handcrafted, unusual, simple, elegant, colourful.
What about your business are you most proud of?
That is has been running for nearly 12 years through the recession and a baby.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
I'm probably not the best to give advice as I'm unmarried yet (maybe this year if I get organised?!!!), but with regards to Wedding Rings go for what you love. Never mind what matches or whatever metal, go with your heart and choose a ring as unique as your relationship.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
A speech by the Bride! I'm all for a bit of female empowerment. I got a mention too, which made me cry.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I like to see the couple and have a relaxed chat to figure out what they would like and go from there. We have many samples to try on so we'll try and make sure the couple try on a ring which is like their preference and we'll even make a silver sample sometimes to make sure the ring is perfect before making it in gold or platinum.
What is the most romantic engraving you have seen on a wedding ring?
I couldn't reveal that! Nicknames are cute and song lyrics from the first dance were pretty special.
Which ring do you think holds most significance for a bride?
I think the engagement ring, it's the show off piece and symbolises the romance of the relationship.
What is your favourite proposal story?
Can I say my own?! A customer of mine decided to propose whilst skiing in Canada and nearly compromised on the ring to fly her up a mountain in a helicopter to propose.
