What is your most memorable wedding?
One in Peterhead when the bride wanted an Elizabeth 1 look and I spent days knotting little pearls to make in intricate and dramatic necklace with a big lapis lazuli drop. The necklace needed re-stringing several times to get the perfect fit and I had to import some special silver beads from the US to complete the look. It was all worth it in the end!

What about your business are you most proud of?

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
The most important thing is to love each other! A wedding is just one day, a marriage is for life. Laugh if your plans don't always go to plan. It is the little mistakes we all make that make for lasting memories. Make those memories happy and keep your sense of humour intact even when tempers can get frayed!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Matching bridesmaid jewellery, all made to measure. Very classy!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Appointment with one or both to choose a gemstone and discuss designs for an engagement ring. Discuss budget either jointly or with the paying partner. Source a gemstone (if we don't have one in stock that is exactly what the bride wants), finalise the design using sketches or CAD images, sign a commission contract (50% down payment) and then the balance of 50% is due on completion.
What are your favourite wedding traditions for rings?
There are no traditions! I like the brides that choose a single ring rather than a paired wedding/ engagement ring set.
What is the most romantic engraving you have seen on a wedding ring?
My couples just choose initials and dates, so I'm not sure I have seen a very romantic engraving, sorry.
Which ring do you think holds most significance for a bride?
Engagement - if she really likes it
What is your favourite proposal story?
Message in a bottle
