What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Make sure you leave plenty of time for everything! You don't want to leave yourself with lots of things left to check off in the last few months, this is the time in which you should be getting excited and looking forward to your big day. We advise organising your wedding rings 6 months out from the big day.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
At Joshua James, our first meeting with a couple will be discussing your wedding theme, your personal styles and your relationship, to get an understanding of what you're looking for in a wedding ring. Of course, all of this is over a glass of champagne!
We will build up an idea of your wedding ring concept which will then be sent to our expert ring designers, who will start sketching your rings, working closely with you to bring your dream rings to life. After approving the design, a 3D render and wax model will be sent to you for final approval, before your rings are handcrafted right here in the UK!
At any point during the process where changes are made, a new design will be created for you, to ensure you get the perfect wedding rings you’ve dream of.
What are your favourite wedding traditions for rings?
Eternity Rings. We absolutely love the gesture of a promise before the actual devotion takes place through an engagement. This way, the receiver is shown that they've been chosen as the proposer's life partner, which is nothing short of touching.
What is the most romantic engraving you have seen on a wedding ring?
"To the one. The only."
Which ring do you think holds most significance for a bride?
The engagement ring. This ring binds that promise of devotion, commitment and eternal love. Plus, they tend to sparkle.
What is your favourite proposal story?
"I came home from work to find a trail of cards around my house. Each card had a picture of us and inside was a memory, or a song lyric, or reasons that he loves me. The last one warned me that a taxi would pick me up and I was to put on something nice and be ready. The taxi took me into Edinburgh city centre and finally stopped outside the Museum of Scotland. One seemingly endless lift ride took me to the restaurant at the top, where I was directed outside to a private roof terrace lit by candles where he was waiting for me." By Misskham
