What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Keep it personal. Remember your wedding is about you as a couple and your love and commitment to each other. If you keep your focus on that, you can't go wrong.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Bespoke, engraved wedding rings - a beautiful sign of everlasting love.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Couples visit our Chapel Allerton studio and meet with one of our expert jewellers. This jeweller will remain with you throughout the entire creative process. We have found this works really well in ensuring that your design translates properly from paper to final bespoke piece. After discussing your ideas, a design is put together either on CAD (a computer aided design process that shows a 3D virtual image of your rings) or as a pewter model (often used for fitted wedding ring as it will be hand shaped to sit perfectly alongside the engagement ring). Only once you have approved the design will it then be sent to our casters to be cast in your choice of precious metal. On it's return to our Yorkshire workshop it will be hand set, finished and polished and then ready for your collection.
What are your favourite wedding traditions for rings?
We love sentimental detailing to wedding rings. If you have a stone or spare metal from a loved one that you would like to have incorporated into your design then please let us know!
What is the most romantic engraving you have seen on a wedding ring?
Being able to say something meaningful in a few words is always impressive. It can be harder than you think! A recent one we had was "yours, always" with the wedding dates engraved. That was touching!
Which ring do you think holds most significance for a bride?
It depends on the bride! The engagement ring truly resembles the real beginning of your journey together, whereas the wedding ring symbolises the solidifying of it and your eternal bond. So it depends which one is more important to you!
What is your favourite proposal story?
They're always magical. A memorable one was a client that came to collect his engagement ring and when asked when he was proposing, he replied "in about half an hour". That was definitely unexpected....
