Describe your typical process with a couple.

I meet with the couple either face to face or on zoom. I talk to them about what I as a Celebrant can do and explain the legal aspect that they have to do as celebrant at this time cannot carry out the legal aspect that being the marriage. I gather information about the type of ceremony they want and who is involved from who is giving away, best man, bridesmaid's etc. I share the type of special extras they can include. I gather information about their love story how they met. We discuss all aspects of the wedding including vows, music, readings, poems, religious or not and rings etc. Once I have explained all of this I allow them 7 days to decide if they wish to employ me, explaining that I will keep date in diary for 7 days. If they want to take me up I then request a depot and send them a contract. I then liaise with them monthly via what app or email and once I have all the details prepare their script and send it to them for approval. If the venue is close I arrange a wedding rehearsal the day before and then on the day arrive 1 hr before to ensure all is arranged and the key things like rings etc have been brought to the wedding. I meet with the couple individually to try and reassure them and settle any last minute nerves.
