What is your most memorable wedding?
My own! But the most memorable wedding where I've been a Celebrant? There was the one where the couple were secretly married and they got me to play a joke on all the guests: 'Thank you for coming here today... Most weddings don't start like this but... I have some good news and some bad news. Unfortunately, the bad news is that C and M have told me they cannot get married here today... (queue dramatic gasp)... The good news, is that you're all here to celebrate their ONE YEAR WEDDING ANIIVERSARY!!!' I love working with couples to get the script as they want it. This worked so well for this couple - I know other weddings where this would not have been appropriate!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Fun, warm, authentic, reliable, happy
What about your business are you most proud of?
I love my Instagram account! I love creating posts - choosing the right photo, using colours and writing bits for them!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Follow hashtags on Instagram for inspiration - I would have learned so much if I had done this!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
A 'get to know you' game for all the guests. It was essentially a 'Find someone who...' which had lots of interesting facts about all the guests and the guests had to circulate to find out who, for example, had appeared as an extra on Neighbours.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I always suggest meeting in a coffee shop or on zoom for a free, no-obligation chat where you can decide if I'm the Celebrant for you. If you decide that I'm your gal, you pay the retainer fee which secures the date. Before the wedding, you'll have a lovely (usually wine-fuelled) evening filling in my couple's questionnaire. We then meet again so I can ask some more nosey questions (the more you tell me, the more personal I can make your script). Before the wedding, I'll send you my first draft. You can request changes on this - it's YOUR wedding day and it's really important to me that you love the script! I then turn up on your big day, an hour in advance, greet guests, marry you both, and then leave you to PARTY!
What is the most unusual thing you’ve been asked to plan?
I've been sworn to secrecy, so that would be telling! (The wedding is happening this spring!)
How do you ensure a stress-free wedding?
I genuinely think wedding planners are 100% worth it if you're doing a more of a DIY wedding
What do you love most about your job?
Follow hashtags on Instagram for inspiration - I would have learned so much if I had done this!
What is your favourite moment at a wedding?
I love it when the couples have written their own vows. They are so genuine and meaningful, and the love between the couple is just so obvious.
