What is your most memorable wedding?
One which I coordinated back in 2009 single handedly for 250 seated guests and an additional 150 evening guests. It was VERY eventful and challenging but I got the job done! I definitely had an "S" on my chest that day!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Classy, Stylish, Elegant, Bespoke, Unique
What about your business are you most proud of?
My business name as it perfectly encapsulates what I stand for. It is all love and that is the key element to my service. I do it all with love.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Have a budget and approximate guest numbers in mind at the start of your planning. Both of these heavily influence key wedding plans including your venue choice, layout and catering. My second tip (as I can't just give you one!),is to have an independent on-the-day coordinator to manage your day on your behalf. This is not the same as a venue coordinator and should preferably not be a friend or family member - they need to enjoy while your Coordinator solely focuses on working to make your day the best ever! No bias or alternative agendas because they are your paid help!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I once arranged for a letter to be drafted by the manager of a top football club for one of my grooms which I read out at the wedding as a surprise. He was a die hard fan of the club and was overwhelmed that the manager sent a letter to him and his new wife. I framed it and it has centre place on his mantelpiece at home. It was the best personal touch I think I have ever added.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
My typical process is an initial telephone conversation with you to discuss what you require and identify the service I can provide you. This is followed by a face to face consultation meeting to discuss your vision and plans, also to get to know you better as a couple. I gather as much information as I can at this meeting which feeds into the proposal document, sent to you a few days after. This document outlines the fees and payment schedule. Once agreeable and the contract is signed and returned, we begin to plan! Simples.
What is the most unusual thing you’ve been asked to plan?
I can honestly say that there has been anything too unusual. But, you never know what the future holds...
How do you ensure a stress-free wedding?
By finalising all of plans in the lead up to the wedding to ensure every "i" is dotted and "t" is crossed ahead of time.... why? So that you can relax and solely focus on preparing yourself for your big day. I make sure that all involved in the wedding from venue, to suppliers, wedding party etc know that Soniamarie Loves is the sole contact for all questions, queries and concerns on the day and not the Bride and Groom. Having a timeline for the day comes as standard as is ensuring that all key people are aware of it and have a copy. It is one of the keys to a stress-free day because every element is accounted for and if things need to be adjusted, it will be done all with the best interests of the wedding day in mind.
What do you love most about your job?
Making my clients happy. Bringing their vision to life. Adding value. The honour of my clients entrusting me to look after and manage such an important event in their lives. I love seeing it all come together on the day! It genuinely fills me with joy. I do it all for the passion first. I want the best for my clients. Nothing else will do.
What is your favourite moment at a wedding?
The partying when all of the formalities have been completed by the couple like cutting the cake and first dance, and they can let loose and really enjoy themselves. The sight of this, for me is second to none. Seeing the joyous looks and smiles on their faces during this time and at the end of the day, knowing they have had a good time is priceless for me. It let's me know that the job was done well.
